My wife and I drove the stretch of the Million Dollar Highway from Ouray to Silverton. It was an incredible roller-coaster type drive. For me, it was an awesome experience, but less so for my wife who suffers a bit from acrophobia (fear of heights)....More

Drove from Durango to Ouray - stayed overnight in Silverton. Beautiful views with some big drop offs off shoulder of road. I’m from the flat Midwest but did not have any issues. Was glad to do most of driving in day and roads were completely...More

I have not been over this pass in more than 40 years. It is remarkably beautiful. We happened to go into Silverton at night when there happened to be a full moon. It is worth planning a trip on the night of a full moon....More

This is truly one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. We drove it from Durango to Ouray on a perfect day. We drove it in September when the leaves were starting to change and it was spectacular.

Spent the night before in Montrose, CO, so the trip started in full daylight. And you need it in order to take in the beauty of the landscape, to be able to make road side stops for photo oportunities. Travel North to South and will...More

We have traversed this Highway a few times - this time the first in the dead of winter. Incredibly scenic, well maintained for a high mountain road but definitely some white knuckle portions. Be a safe, courteous driver and you will experience true beauty.

An absolutely amazing drive! So beautiful and well maintained. It can be an intimidating drive with narrow, twisty roads and no guard rails, but it is worth it. Just amazing.

Gorgeous drive!!! We were lucky to have clear roads in December, still made me nervous! Hardly any railings! So worth the drive to Ouray from Silverton! Gorgeous mountains!!
