We went with a cooler, chairs and a small gas grill. We were able to park near the walk way and found a nice spot to set up. There were lifeguards on duty until 6pm. The beach was clean and not as full of people....More

a few restaraunts, a large supermarket and a beautiful beach. not too crowded. St Augustine 10 minutes away for nightclubs & entertainment (if that's your thing) + a broader restaurant selection but for me the quiet & light crowds make it an excellent beach destination

I did exactly what I had planned...laid on the beach, read my book, walked on the beach. The life guards were on duty everyday.

My family and I stay in Vilano Beach once or twice a year. Its the best of both worlds with a beautiful, quiet, pet friendly beach just minutes away from Historic Downtown St. Augustine.

Good safe family friendly beach. The hotels are typical Florida beach hotels so they are a little worn but comfortable.

I'm not sure of the law there but I did see people drinking something that was contained in a Coozi. I would say yes just don't get drunk and call attention to yourself.

Not really. The winter is the best time for the bigger shells. Sharks teeth can be found, not really large ones. The 25 years we have been going to Florida -- the Gulf/Venice is the best sharks teeth finding. With all... More
