There's a kayak course set up in the river and while I was there, were 20-30 kayakers taking turns running the course. Great fun to watch, especially when the weather is sunny like that day.

the heart of Salida has to be the Riverside Park. Great place to view a concert or play with the kids. It is right on the Arkansas river and you can just sit in the park along the river for a relaxing experience.

Riverside park is best known for the amphitheater, during the summer they have a small concert every Thursday. It is also the main location for fibark events and races. And occasionally the town beer garden for alcohol related festivals, if you will. During the winter...More

We parked in the car park by the river and walked N orth first. Trail soon ran out so we walked south.very quiet out the wind plenty of seats to sit and picnic lots of people fishing apleasant hour to pass the time

Took the dogs down and they had a blast. Nice place right in town to stretch out and just enjoy life. Saw some people fishing, dogs went for a swim.

Great place for picnic or a stroll along the river. Shops and restaurants along the river. Band stand is a great Thursdays in the summer. All is free.

no attractions...but swins, water, river, fishing...shops...bars...art galleries....antiques...

The river runs along the park. There are 4 or 5 places where the river drops and creates some whitewater. You can wade and swim in the calm water. The children will want to have life jackets if they want to float through the... More
