It's always a good day for a soak in the clear warm waters of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool! The hot springs of Ouray have been enjoyed since at least the 14th century when native Ute Indians used the naturally hot clear water for healing. Settlers came to the area in the late 1800's in search of gold and precious minerals, and many found comfort in the natural hot springs. The current swimming pool was constructed in the 1920's and has been a favorite destination ever since. Seven different springs supply the pool with water. At the source some of this water is 150 degrees! The pool consists of several sections maintained at different temperatures for different tastes. The hot section is approximately 104 degrees, and a soaking section, perfect for families and prolonged soaking, is typically 95 degrees, or so. The lap lanes and deep section are usually about 80 degrees in the summer and fall, and cooler than that in the winter months when there is snow on the ground. The Ouray Hot Springs Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool open all year. Many people enjoy the pool the most in the winter, after a day spent ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skating on the local ice rink (skates are available to rent at the Hot Springs Pool), or simply as a place to relax and enjoy the splendid scenery of the San Juan Mountains.

We entered the Hot Springs Pool facility at 7:30 in the evening, following a long day of hiking and sightseeing. The cost was $18 per person, with no reduction in the fee for this short period of time. It's worthy of noting that this is...More

If you are looking to relax and have a great time consider visiting the hot springs pool. The water slide was a hit for my younger ones who didn’t want to soak. Cute park outside of facility and koi pond available next to facility on...More

Nice family place to swim and enjoy the day, however it is too expensive in my opinion. 16.00 just to use the gym which is seriously outdated and dirty. If you want to use the slides that is an extra 3.00 on top of the...More

Kids had a blast at the hot springs. They are clean and pools are various temperatures with many very hot. My only complaint is the insane amount of rules. It is almost comical. The swim test for kids under 13 is overkill. 25m freestyle plus...More

Oh man, this was well worth the fee. We ran down for a dip after a hail storm on our last day. So glad we didn’t miss this gem. Several different temp hot spring pools and a cold lap pool. The hot/cold transition felt so...More
