Took a day off of skiing and took the mostly up hill hike to the Rainbow Lake. We walked across the lake and went a little further. Make sure you have good shoes it was a little slippery on the way back.

Rainbow Lake was frozen in February, not a remake of the disney classic ice queen, it was actually frozen.slippery when wet.

We visited Rainbow Lake during the late spring. The wild flowers were blooming the weather was perfect. The kids only whined a little bit since it wasn't really that far. The lake itself is pretty and we enjoyed.

Friends and I flew into Frisco and that same day, my son took us on a couple of mini hikes to start acclimating ourselves to the elevation. This was a beauty!

Located close to Frisco this is a nice little trek but the lake itself isn't really much. It must be more the experience. However, there are other offshoot trails that lead high into the nearby mts. for a great experience.

Rainbow is one of my go to hikes when family visits with small children. It is short and relatively easy.

Since we live in the lowcountry of South Carolina, it always takes us awhile to adjust to the altitude. This is always our first hike. Great when the aspens are changing colors. Our dog loves it too!

This is an easy hike past a rushing stream and beautiful trees. Wear good shoes and bring a light jacket. The weather here changes quickly. The lake is small but the area around is so pretty.
