About
If you're looking for a place to shop, eat, and drink in Denver, look no further than 16th Street Mall. Opened in 1982, this 1.7-mile pedestrianized stretch is lined with more than 300 stores, restaurants, and bars. But don't worry, you can easily get from one end to the other on a free shuttle bus. When seen from above, the granite tiles resemble a diamondback rattlesnake—a cool design element added by renowned architect I.M. Pei. Check out 16th Street Mall on a city tour of Denver, which often includes a stop here. – Tripadvisor

Full day’s worth of shops and restaurants
I went to the 16th street mall to grab some souvenirs and items I needed. It’s perfect for spending a full day of shopping for clothes and personal items, as well as grabbing lunch or coffee. I even went to get a manicure and pedicure on the spot. Park is nearby. I recommend any traveler to come and check it out. Note: They’re working on the street so there’s construction so be aware.

Construction limits ease of access to places
This area still has a significant amount of restaurants and shops but is difficult to navigate due to construction. There were some homeless but no more than you typically see downtown in a big city. We did use the free shuttle which was convenient and felt safe during the day but wouldn’t recommend alone or at night.

    Tired, dated and construction everywhere
Shopping street that runs from one end of the city to the other. Usual suspects of stores, restaurants and fast food places. Completely dug up for construction, so in parts very difficult to navigate - especially as avoiding the many homeless that frequent here. Looks sketchy in places, so just be aware

    Enjoy the vibe!
It can get pretty packed, especially on weekends. Like, elbow-to-elbow kinda packed. But hey, that's part of the fun, right? Lots of cool shops, good eats, and street performers to check out.

While I can imagine this was once a vibrant area, it is currently full of empty storefronts, homeless individuals, a massive construction project, and the smell of weed. Feels unsafe and an area to be avoided. Denver needs to get it off it's "places to visit" lists unless this area is revitalized as listing this as an attraction hurts a visitors impression of the city.

Construction everywhere, nothing decent to shop, tried the bus, easy & free, but saw nothing worth stopping for. Was great on my last visit several years ago. Would avoid til Construction done.

Shops were few and far between. Not a lot of activity, not a good place to get a feel for the city. If this is touted as a gem for the city it was disappointing.

Too bad 16th St. has deteriorated. The construction is the majority of the street. Loud, dirty, smelly, unappealing site. Solicitors and homeless standing in the sidewalks. Some ask for money. To call the mall a mall is embarrassing for Denver. Majority of shops and bars are permanently closed. A few decent restaurants are still open further down the street…Smash Burger and Cheesecake Factory. We were disappointed.

Why is this on every list of must-dos for Denver?! It is horrible. There is almost NO shopping other than H&M and Target (well there’s a Radio Shack, lol). There are some crappy chain restaurants, empty storefronts, and construction. Don’t pick your hotel based on proximity to this area. Don’t put it on your itinerary.

Not what I remember. Granted most the center of the street is under construction, but half the shops are closed or gone. Plus the homeless everywhere kinda makes you uneasy walking around.
