We entered this drive near del Norte and drove through to Creede. So much fantastic scenery. Of the little towns along the way, Creede was by far the best place to stop and see all the geological sites and galleries.

As far as scenic Colorado drives goes, this is a fairly easy drive with some fantastic views. The length of time will depend on the number of stops you make for shopping or other activities.

This gorgeous drive will not disappoint. extending from Blue Mesa to South Fork, the towns of Lake City and Creede have a lot to offer. Be sure to allocate some time to explore. They both have interesting scenery and history.

I don’t know because we didn’t drive the San Juan Highway. But the Silver Thread was not scary at all.
