We drove the Silver Thread Scenic Byway in September and the Aspens were in fantastic color. Well worth the time spent.

We entered this drive near del Norte and drove through to Creede. So much fantastic scenery. Of the little towns along the way, Creede was by far the best place to stop and see all the geological sites and galleries.

You really need to take this slow and study up on it a little. Their are many places to pull of and drive down the roads to lakes and water falls and scenic points. Be sure and see them all. Just an awesome trip we...More

I don’t know because we didn’t drive the San Juan Highway. But the Silver Thread was not scary at all.
