The show was good and entertaining. We enjoyed it. The food left a lot to be desired, not just us but our entire table commented that we needed a second supper when the show was complete. The salad was the best part. Would go to another show if the menu was better.

A fun night for friends and family (over 15 years of age)! We had family visiting from out of town and were looking something fun to do so we made reservations for a Saturday night. The hosts brought great energy and motivated the guests to get involved diving in to the clues that surfaced after a murder occurred in our midst. Fear not introverts! You are not required to participate, but you will find yourself watching your fellow diners and reviewing the clues in hopes that you can solve the case. Bonus points for the fantastic four course meal that was served. A tasty vegetarian option was available! If you love guessing the plot twist before everyone else or just want some fun entertainment with a good meal, this is a great option for a fun night out.

We got our tickets through Groupon, which made it a good value. However, once you made the reservation, the Antlers Hilton (where it was staged) charged a mandatory gratuity. And at the end of the show, there are envelopes on the table for tipping the performers.

My wife and I had a good time. The show was very well organized. I should note that this appears to be a national show with local casts so if you see the show in one town, it will be the same plot. The website presents a lot of good organizational information which I won't repeat. I will note that everyone is a suspect, my wife got interrogated. Also, there were a lot of clues, each table gets their own set to go over and the progression is logical. It is playful and every group at our table was in the spirit of the event.

A couple of minor dings on the hotel. The appetizer service was disorganized. I had to track down a server to get one. Also, depending on the volume of the group next to you, you might have trouble hearing the dialog. We had some get rich quick flipping houses group and they had loud upbeat music. Finally, be aware that there is a dress code. You have to blend in. And there is also an age limit.

Overall, an excellent evening, especially with the groupon. We would go back if they had another mystery.

Maybe the show is better when there more people but due to covid and social distancing, there were only about a dozen tables set up, two that were empty. So we had about 21 people in our audience, 3 being staff from the show. I was expecting more of a show! The two main actors did spend quite a bit of time interacting with the audience and trying to make it fun. There were only 6 actors total. Pretty lame in my opinion.
I bought a canned drink on my way I and I felt it was way overpriced at eleven dollar! For one can? That’s worse than sporting event prices!
The food was ok. Dinner roll was a little dry, not sure what the appetizer was that came with the salad, tried both items in the plate and didn’t care for either. The chicken and vegetables were pretty good. Dessert was some sort of apple bread pudding type dessert, it was only ok also.
Guess for the prices I just expected more entertainment and better food.

Truly a disappointment. We arrive at almost 15 minutes to 6 p.m. and no sign anywhere in the Lobby of the Antler's Hotel as to the actual location of the Dinner Show. My husband had to go to the front desk to ask for directions. We go to the end of the hall and pass at least 6 other venues that were going on in separate ballrooms. It is now 10 minutes to 6 p.m. and there is a small sign sitting on a desk with blank nametags and pens lying on it. Absolutely no host/hostess of any kind for the venue. The natural thing happens. People start acting like a herd and go up to the desk and grab a nametag, put their name on it and wear it.

At the top of the hour, a hostess going by the name of Karen pops in and starts yelling not to put nametags on and to remove it if they did it. Completely disorganized. Another ten minutes go by and more people are showing up. Karen comes back out and finally gives direction as to have people in a line and it is just pure chaos at this time. There are people waiting and have gone to sit down in the room and are told to leave and come back out to the mill farm area that we are expected to wait in. It's just a hall with no seating for handicap or anyone for that matter. There is a small bar where a coke and a bottled water costs $10, but nothing else.

We have now been waiting for over 40 minutes by the time we get to check in and get a nametag only to be told to go wait down the hall. Ludicrous. The noise level is very extreme and the hostess starts screaming Marco Polo at the top of her voice in order to get the crowd to quiet. There is no control whatsoever here and the crowd has only had time for one drink at this point. It is uncomfortably warm in the hallway and we continue to wait for the room to open.

There is a group of 24 that is seated first, even though they mostly arrived last to the event. No rhyme or reason to the madness here. Once inside the room there is no decoration whatsoever for a dinner theater. The room is just a small, cramped ballroom with table seating for 10 sitting elbow to elbow. The woman next to me was screaming Marco Polo at the top of her voice into my ear and that was the last straw. Our party just left the insanity even before touching the salad for a much more professional option at another venue. This is just a money grab with low quality service.

The Dinner Detective was a real disappointment. First the plusses. The acting is typical of amateur theatricals but competently accomplished. The actors had lots of fun and the audience got quite a few chuckles. Subtle, they're not. Unfortunately the negatives overwhelm the positives. The room was quite noisy. The participants at one table (some of who were the performers and their friends) laughed uproariously and very loudly at everything. They actually drowned out the dialogue to the extent that the actors had to shout their lines and were still unintelligible part of the time. The food was a long time coming and the entree arrived quite cold. The website advertised being able to select your entree from 3 choices. In actuality, there was one and only one choice - chicken parmesan. The show that was performed made little sense and the clues were difficult to string together, even for the performers - it could be we had trouble because we couldn't hear all that was going on. For the price we paid - $60+ per person, the value just wasn't there. I would not recommend.

It was a fun experience, but I couldn't see doing it again. Food was fine and the "show" was entertaining, but as a concept, I think it a "one time is enough" thing.

This was my first murder mystery dinner and I have to say it was a lot of fun! Very well organized, good clues, and great actors. A lot of fun and worth the $. My only complaint was the food and that is geared at the Antlers Hilton not the group performers. Drinks were terribly expensive. I do look forward to going again!

Amazing time, solo or as a couple the mystery is for everyone. Good times to mingle with everyone even if you are shy and don't want to talk to others.

The Dinner Detective show was really fun. We saw "A Noteworthy Crime". They hid actors in the audience which was fun and everyone was a suspect so you interrogate all the people. They give clues throughout and you talk to everyone. If you're looking for a fun night out with adults or something sdifferent, fun, and quirky you should consider this!
