I learned so much here - definitely a top attraction in Colorado Springs. You can usually buy your ticket online for a discount from Groupon - just ask the front desk about this (they're the ones who told me). The museum is interactive, so you can bring kids here. There are free player cards that you can create and develop throughout the museum, and take home with you as a souvenir. It's still a good museum even if you come as an adult or by yourself. My favorite part is the complete collections of Olympic torches and Olympic medals. These are worth the ticket alone, but the museum also offers tons of Olympic clothing and other memorabilia, plus information about how both history and technology has impacted the Olympics. And, if you're interested in stamps, the front desk has a little flame stamp that you can ask for! Just beware that Team USA runs this museum, and they have a partnership with Visa, so other cards don't work.

We visited Colorado Springs just to go to the Olympics and Paralympics museum, the training center and the figure skating hall of fame. I would recommend touring this museum. Just seeing the medals change over time and the exhibit of all the torches is worth the admission price.

I love the Olympics so there was no doubt my wife and I would visit this museum when we were in town. I had thought it would be a straight forward nostalgic review of events in the past. Boy was I mistaken.
Sure, there were plenty of highlights on iconic Olympic moments. But what I didn't expect was how high tech this museum was. When you purchase tickets, you get a profile. A host has you append to your profile the sports you are most interested in. Then they send you up an elevator to the top floor to enjoy the displays.
Almost like a parking garage, as you wander through the displays, you are slowly winding your way down the building. Along the way are interactive displays like downhill skiing, or a luge run, or a spring with timer. Fun for the whole family!
I highly recommend visiting the museum, and you might want to budget a little more time than you had at first thought because the museum is so well done.

Went to museum on a Sunday, they have special rates for residents. well read all the fine print at the facility. The 5.00 per person day turned into $45.00. It appears that the Olympic museum does not even have a parking lot they own. So the money I am pay does not even stay in El Paso county it goes to Denver of all places. Why would a business not have a parking lot for revenue? Does that sound messed up? The daily parking fee is 7.50 a day but my bill is 35.00 which is even more messed up. I would not recommend going here at all was not worth the money I had to pay. Then the bridge overlooks a railroad wtf. This place is just a joke would never go back there again and will not recommend anyone else go either

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your experience with the city's parking! We do not manage or maintain the parking lot across from us as it is owned by a separate entity, and utilized by other surrounding businesses. The United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum unfortunately has no control over the revenue flows for a parking lot we do not own. We recommend paying for parking at one of the many surrounding parking meters right outside our doors as a cheaper alternative to the parking lot.
We hope you enjoyed the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum itself and had a good experience with our amazing artifacts, interactives, and staff!

We arrived in the parking lot or at the museum at 3:45 and spent a few minutes paying for the parking lot which was $7.50. When we walked up the steps to the museum, an employee came out and told us that even though the museum didn’t close until five they had already sold her last tickets and we were not allowed to purchase tickets and enter. We let her know that we had already planned. The sites were going to see in the building because we knew we only had a little over an hour till they closed, and we were willing to pay and do that, and she said it didn’t matter, no entry . So we lost our $7.50 parking fee. We couldn’t find anywhere on their website that said they sold their last ticket at 3:45.

Thank you for your feedback, and for your interest in the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic museum. In order to ensure that all guests have enough time to enjoy all aspects of what the museum has to offer, and to facilitate guests enjoying the full value of the admission price, we do respectfully stop selling tickets approximately 1 hour before we close. This information is indeed listed on our website, on the front page right under the admission times. We hope you'll come back and check us out again soon!

So much potential here, but we were really disappointed. It was very frustrating to try to get the interactive exhibits to work. The staff tried hard to help, but even they struggled. The exhibits wouldn't recognize who we were, they didn't respond to our movements, etc. The running exhibit was cool, but the downhill skiing one and soccer one could have been so, so much better. My expectations were high after paying almost $100 for our family of 4. They gave a student discount for my college student, but my high school student paid full adult price. Strange. We started by entering in some information about ourselves at the beginning like our favorite summer and winter olympic sports. They said it would customize our experience, but it didn't seem to make any difference. We were told the last showing of the movie at the end was at 4:35, so we hurried to that, but when that ended with 10 minutes left before closing, they wouldn't let us return to the metals exhibit we rushed through. Had to leave. There are so many human interest stories surrounding the olympics, but nearly all of them are missing from the museum. Lots of focus on paralympics, which is great, but would be better if they took the opportunity to educate about the paralympics. How about have people try to take a basketball shot from a chair? Or serve a volleyball while seated? Or even show videos of great moments in the paralympics and show how some sports are played differently. Most people haven't ever seen the paralympics. I wanted to love this museum, but sadly didn't. The staff is fantastic and I can tell alot of money went into it, but they really need to fix and rethink the exhibits.

We appreciate your thorough review of your visit here at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, and we are grateful to hear about your experience. All of our interactive exhibits can be enjoyed without registering your guest credential, but upon registration, it does provide a personalized experience based on your chosen favorite sports, and being able to recognize yourself on the interactives through your name and a customized badge. It also creates unique additional features, including the ability to bookmark content, and save scores from the interactives that are viewable after your visit in your Digital Locker. We do gradually close the galleries as the closing time gets closer to give guests the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the galleries, as well as the gift shop, before we lock our doors for the evening. During special events that are held on our plaza, guests can indeed enjoy playing wheelchair basketball, and many of our displays educate on the history of the Paralympics, while allowing video demonstrations of Paralympic sports to be viewed. Your feedback is being forwarded to our Guest Experience and Operations teams to help ensure a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for all guests. Thank you so much for visiting us, and we hope you might try us again soon.

They make you enter your FULL name & hometown, then they broadcast it to the entire museum. Pretty creepy if you ask me. I recommend everyone use a fake name & location because it’ll show up on all the screens throughout the museum that you’re there visiting. Otherwise it was pretty cool, you can interact with the exhibits and there’s some cool artifacts

Thank you for your review of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum. The registration process is entirely optional, and guests can enter name, email, and pick your favorite sports; your precise location or town are never prompted at all, and neither is there anywhere that allows guests to enter it in our museum. Entering this information provides you with a Digital Locker to save content to your email, and a more personalized experience when interacting with our electronic displays, which will show your name and sports selected, nothing else. You are more than welcome to enter any name you'd like, or skip Registration entirely, as it is completely optional. We're glad you enjoyed our interactives and artifacts, thank you for visiting us!

Monday morning. I'd really like to give this an excellent rating, but sadly I left underwhelmed.
Positives:
* Olympic torches going back to the 1930s
* Medals going back just as far
* Building's architecture
* Helpful docents
* The science behind the athletes' equipment
* Some athletes' memorabilia
Negatives
* $25 entry fee
* $15 parking on adjacent surface lot. Should've used the parking meters.
* Somewhat confusing layout
* Nothing from the most recent Olympics
* Over-reliance on interactive displays to fulfill the user experience. Since most museum goers aren't athletes, what's the point of trying to beat the video of an Olympic athlete?
* Significant lack of athletes' memorabilia. For a museum that's been up and running for a year, they should make a more concerted effort to pack the place with memorabilia from more recent athletes to justify the entry fee. There seemed to be lots of memorabilia from athletes from 50+ years ago. Also, why not get the broadcast networks and broadcasters to donate anything they have? I was also surprised that I could have touched most of the memorabilia without much of a reach and that it all wasn't behind glass. I'm sure they have invisible security systems but if some idiot or clumsy person damages something, it's too late. Also, because memorabilia is that close and unprotected, they have to station docents who are watching your every move. Good luck with that on a busy day.
As this museum matures, I look forward to a return visit that better justifies the price.

Thank you for your feedback. It has been passed on to our staff. The museum is designed off of a discus thrower with a spiral linear path through our galleries. We do also have over 460 artifacts here and hopefully on your next visit more will be out on display. We are currently working on getting more from the recent Tokyo Games! Lastly, we strive to have a balance between interactive technology, historical artifacts, and film to share the stories of our U.S. Olympians and Paralympians. we hope you will return again in the future as we grow!

We live in Colorado Springs and had not yet visited this new(er) museum. We were inspired to visit during the Winter Olympic games this year. First, the technology incorporated into the exhibits is truly amazing. It felt personalized and unique to the visitor. We went early on Superbowl Sunday, which actually turned out to be a good choice as it wasn't nearly as busy. We appreciated the knowledgeable staff stationed throughout the space, they were able to give perspective and history to each exhibit in ways we never even imagined. We took our time, and listened to them - I would recommend doing so as we learned things about the torches, the boycott of the games in 1980, and the only complete medal exhibit in the world.

This new museum is AWESOME and the staff is OUTSTANDING! It's very high tech and modern and with a lot of interactive activities. The experience ends with a 10 minute film about the lives of an olympian. It contains the famous hockey scoreboard with the USA and Russia score from the 1980 winter olympics at Lake Placid. The famous phrase Al Michaels said looking at this scoreboard "do you believe in miracles."
We spent a little over 2 hours here and I can see somebody spending more time if they did every interactive activity offered or a little less if they don't do very much of the interactive things offered. They have a nice gift shop at the end and I would recommend checking out the cafe because it's offers some good meals.
This is a great museum for all ages. We saw younger kids really enjoy the interactive activities so they won't get bored. They have a lot of neat artifacts from Paralympic & Olympic athletes including a signed jersey from the 2012 USA Basketball team including Kobe Bryant & LeBron James.
The price is about $25 for adults and $15 for children (ages 3 - 12) and they offer a discount for seniors & military members (about $20 each). I would recommend buying your tickets in advance and they offer tickets starting every 15 minutes during the museum hours. The parking is free and you will get some great views of Pikes Peak inside the museum including the ride in the elevator to the 3rd floor.

Hi visitors. I don't know if there is a discount for this attraction for first responders. I was not asked if I was a first responder. I am aware however that there this discount is offered at nearby Manitou Springs for visiting the Manitou Cliff Dwellings.
