About
Bangkong Kahoy translates to Wooden Bench, hence the name “bangko” which was derived from live tree trunks and branches. About 2-hours drive from Metro Manila, Bangkong Kahoy Valley sits between the mountains of Mt. Banahaw and Mt. Cristobal; a comfortable haven for weekend trekkers, bird watchers and anyone who wants to escape to a cool and quiet retreat. One gets a magnificent view of two mountains interacting with the moods of sun, the wind and the rain, constantly changing, always proclaiming the glory of its Maker.

This is one of the most amazing places in the Philippines. It is literally what you would imagine a tropical rainforest to be. Here you have tranquility. Here you smell serenity and here you are surrounded by wonder and marvel at everything you see.
You can pitch a tent and immerse yourself in all the whiles of nature, but its definitely a sanctuary for all peoples because in all the great outdoors there is fantastic lodgings.
The private Home in Bagnkong Kahoy can be leased and here you have all the neccessities for plush comfort. Hot showers and Home cooked meals with wifi and cable. If you have to watch the News. You can.
I recommend this Home for all adventurers and nature seeking folk- or anyone who just wants fresh air and quiet.

Dolores Quezon is a town near San Pablo,Laguna.A town of nature and tranquility. Bangkong Kahoy is situated at Brgy. Kinabuhayan in Dolores. Going to the valley is a little bit rough due to its unpaved roads. When you reach Brgy. Kinabuhayn, you will be welcomed by tall trees and giant ferns. There you will see the Brgy. Hall where you will have to pay 10php as toll. Then you will have to travel for about 15mins on a bumpy road before reaching the Bangkong kahoy valley. The view itself is picturesque and tranquil. Fresh air and cool breeze. You just need a picnic mat and you're good. It is one of the most perfect picnic sites I have been to. Full green sceneries is waving to you haha. The staffs are friendly and very hospitable. For 70php entrance, I can consider it cheap for the beautiful view and experience. They also have a free cup of barako coffee (famous coffee in batangas) If you are planning to visit the valley and stay for awhile, you have to contact them so they can have enough time to prepare. Overall experience here is superb, great view, great staffs for a cheap price😍

"Observe leave no trace" policy
Bangkong Kahoy Valley leaves no trace of a City Life. Our experience is one sweet escape from a busy and noisy place of M. Manila. Highly recommending the place with the ff notes :
1. Feel the cool and gloomy weather
2. Green is everywhere
3. Lunch & dinner buffets offer a variety of 3 healthy viands, with soup and dessert.
4. Vegetable burger is 👌
5. Got to taste the shakes of lychee and dragonfruit
6. Breakfast is homey and not the typical silogs.
7. Pancake syrup is their own jam
8. Tour the area and visit the "Bahay Obispo" from Aldub's Destined to be Yours Series
7. Accomodation is great and affordable! We got the lodge type room with 20% discount since its off season peak.
8. Try to trek in the morning since rain falls in the afternoon
9. Staffs are dear friendly. It was nice meeting the owner, Sir Dion.
Just be careful and drive safely. Hope you find time to visit the place for a relaxing trip. 😉😉

After traveling to Tacloban from Australia for the 75th Anniversary commemoration of the battle of Leyte with our 93 year old father, we decided to have a rest and recuperation period. We chose this location and we could not have made a better choice. Air so crisp and clean you could taste it, totally organic food, safe and secure location, friendly staff and only 2.5 - 3 hours from Manila. Anyone visiting the Philippines needs to stay here.

Mushroom burger was great. If you’re looking for a place far from the city and would like to relax then this is the best place to go. The place is located in a valley so expect a cold weather.

It is a gift from nature, so serene...
Eventually, I think, the next La Trinidad of the Philippines.
Big potential for strawberry and other highlands products industry...
Can't wait to experience their camping and other facilities.
THUMBS UP!!!

Bangkong Kahoy is THE destination for those seeking quiet days communing with nature. It is situated between the twin mountains, the mystical Mt Banahaw and the "devil" mountain Mt Cristobal. There are a lot of explanations why it's called the "devil" mountain, however, you would still find it so charming and enigmatic. The road from the town proper is paved, takes about 22 minutes on 50kph, a little uphill and no need to rush going up as you will enjoy the sights. Feel getting near the foot of Mt. Banahaw. The Nature Park has several accomodations to choose from, native huts, villas and the hotel-type. It has no A/C in the rooms as the temperature is cool, especially at dawn. You enjoy staying at the Playing Field. Feel free to just sit around, or play frisbee or catch or any game with your family and friends. This is the place if you want your children to REALLY play minus the electronic gagets. Enjoy just walking around, see different flowers, plants and trees, and sample local rasperry picking. There's a horseback ride with guide at P90/hr. Meals has to be pre-reserved. They can offer from breakfast till dinner with snacks too. Food is prepared by the locals, sample organic chicken cooked ala tinola, and dont forget to sample their crunchy taro nuggets/chips. You wont even realize it's taro you are munching. Life is simple here. You get to enjoy free kape barako all day.

Our small family went to Bangkong Kahoy for both work and leisure. We had the best time as we relaxed in the area. We had an open cottage with mosquito nets which surprisingly act as protection from both the mosquitoes and the night wind. We had organic vegetables and freshly cooked food (buffet style) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The people of Bangkong Kahoy were some of the warmest, jovial people I have met in my travels and being there felt like being welcomed by your own family. Our initial plan of staying overnight turned into a two-night stay.
It is a must that you book ahead as they limit the number of guests so as to ensure that peace and quiet is achieved. You can contact them via Facebook or via their website.
What to do there:
1. Camp and do bonfire in their camping grounds
2. Wander around the area and see football fields where horses graze and where you can run as wild and free as you want.
3. Walk around the trails and pick guava from the guava trees along the way
4. See how mushrooms are grown!
5. Eat their delicious Mushroom burger, mushroom hopia (which you can order on hand) and their minatamis na saba dessert (part of the buffet). Of course, the buffet menu is based on which vegetables are in season or available.
6. Help out with their vegetable garden. Cultivate your green thumb and learn the basic ropes of vegetable gardening. Look for Gio, wake up at 6am and help out, we did!
7. If you are lucky, you can pick sampinit (wild raspberries)
8. Horseback riding is available upon request.
9. Bird watching. See the very rare Whiskered Pita in their natural habitat. Ask for Kuya Cris, the pita whisperer and you will surely see these "bigotes".
10. Look at (or chase!) their free range chicken.
11. Mudslide (when you are lucky enough that it is set-up)
12. Stargazing and astro-photography :-)
13. Have fun with their resident cutie, young boy Nayon who looks so adorable trying to help his parents in the vegetable garden (while making a mess on his clothes). My girls wanted to take him home but of course, his parents wouldn't let us. :-)

Actually I wanted to buy fresh mushrooms, which are grown there. But there is a long zip line as well, and a lot of trails for interested wanderers.

How much are the room rates. What if I'll bring my own tent? How much is the rent for the space of my tent. Thank you!
Written March 3, 2019
They have cottages that ranges from 2500 pesos to 3500 pesos and their villas ranges from 3500 pesos to 6000 pesos. I dont have any idea with the rates for their tents. But you can check also their facebokook page.

P70 for a Day Tour. =) But please call them for reservation if you are going to eat lunch or dinner there. =)
Written October 19, 2017
Are they serving ala carte meals?
Is there a fee for setting up tent if you want to stay overnight?
Written August 22, 2017
As far as I remember they served buffet only but on a reasonable price. You may also bring your own food/drinks, we did ;)
Yes, there's tent pitching fee, 200 I think. Bring also lamp since it's totally dark when they shut off the light.
Enjoy your stay :)

Hi, How much is for a Day Tour? and is it okay if we do walk-in payment. tnx
Written April 10, 2017
For a day tour you have to pay 70 Php and you can do a walk in payment but if you are not going to bring your own food you have to book for their buffet lunch because they are not going to accomodate on the spot reservation.
