When it's 95 degrees and you just have to go for a hike in Boulder, El Dorado state park has you covered. Rattlesnake gulch trail is lovely and shaded.

The park itself is excellent, with hiking, rock climbing and fishing opportunities. The road to get there can be a bit harrowing, so check your tires first and drive slowly.

We planned to go to the gold mining area but the area was closed to protect nesting Golden Eagles in the area. We were discounted but we enjoyed other potions of the Park like Flat Rocks and Flagstaff Summit. The hikes were fine for a...More

Go before the sunrise, take the Snake Gulch trail to the first overlook and get a stunning view of the sun coming up.

Views are great, moderately challenging. Paying for parking access is worth it, and get there early (or on a weekend) to ensure parking availability

We “hiked” the Fowler trail which is a very easy hike. We had great views of the canyon and the scenery is just beautiful. There are many trails you can hike depending on your skill level. To get to the trails was a unique experience...More

The falls fill this roadside park with splendor. Take a hike up and around so that you can take photos from every vantage point. The rock climbers are entertaining in their own right. We enjoyed a picnic and a day.

We went to Eldorado just after a snow storm. I read that Fowler Trail was fairly easy and it was. At some points it was very icy and we had to be careful because there are no railings to keep you from falling down a...More

Make the time to At least have a snack by the rushing water. You can walk Fowler trail, it’s more like a walk than a hike. A short walk will give you great views. Go all the way to the visitor center parking lot when you get... More

It is very much worth it! There is no strenuous hiking if you follow the Fowler Trail. Bring comfortable sneakers.
