About
Situated in the heart of an energetic city is beautiful, historic Downtown Boulder. At the heart of Downtown Boulder is the Pearl Street Mall, a wonderfully charismatic four-block-long pedestrian mall that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. Colorful, bright flowers fill the mall almost the entire year and street performers, with a multitude of talents, make the Pearl Street Mall one of the best people-watching destinations anywhere.

Fun place to stroll with restaurants, gift stores, and more gift stores. The Boulder Bookstore is an above average place that one hopes will go one for generations. It's an easy stroll to and from UC. Fun place to see!

A lovely downtown to walk, shop, people watch, etc. Lots of adorable local shops and restaurants with character and charm. Not your run-of-the-mill chains and cheezy tourist traps.

As someone who used to live in Boulder and returned for business, I was SHOCKED at how unfortunate Pearl Street Mall has become. City Hall is a beautiful building and it is now just a homeless camp. There were strung out people everywhere. There were some who were yelling and scaring my 3 and 1 yr old children. It's a sad situation, but it is not somewhere I will be taking my kids again.

This is the cutest place! There were tables/booths set up all along the pedestrian mall, selling everything from crafts to soap to food and more. Street performers did their thing too. It was just a fabulous way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon!

Filthy, overpriced stores and felt abandoned. Homeless people starving while the grotesquely wealthy dined and drank.
Truly disturbing

This was was a quaint little village within Boulder. The shop keepers were friendly. We were able to pick up some gifts. Parking is inexpensive too.

Definitely worth a visit in beautiful downtown Boulder. Note- dogs not allowed (for some reason). Casual, relaxing and with some nice shops.

“When in Boulder, do as the Boulderians do!”

While I can’t say that I’ve heard that expression while here, I like the sound of it (fact) and have initiated the trademark process to incorporate it under the “Henry’s Take” corporate umbrella (not true). 😉

While chatting it up with some of the locals we were encouraged to pay a visit to “The Mall” during our visit. While that recommendation initially lacked any appeal whatsoever, we discovered that the local definition of “mall” is totally different than how it is traditionally defined. Also known here as “The Bricks”, it offers much more than shopping opportunities including scenic views and quality street performers (including live music).

The people here exude an eccentric vibe as evidenced by the comment of someone who asked a passing Postal Carrier,
“Do you remember the plan? You were supposed to mail me to New Orleans!” 🤣

The locals also recommended that we walk through the historic “Boulderado Hotel” which is in the area (and worth the few extra steps to get there).

And that’s…Henry’s Take.

Exceptional variety of shops. Easy to navigate and parking was not a challenge but considering we visited during winter so it wasn’t as crowded. There are plenty of places to sit outside to rest. Dining is available too!

There are lots of shops and restaurants on Pearl Street. I liked the portion that was closed to cars. For the kids, the large stone animals are fun to climb on. This time of year the tulips were blooming.
