This small town has surprisingly well preserved historic district, well taken care of, with a lot of interpretive information posted. Very interesting and looks good on pictures!

If you stop in Yreka, I recommend taking a stroll through this area of town for some interesting and unique shops and beautiful old structures.

There are historical facts posted on the front of the building. You can imagine want it was like in the 1850's.

I'm a history buff so appreciate places like this that haven't destroyed their heritage. Plaques explaining the area's history, cute shops, nice dining, and authentic buildings from gold mining days were wonderful. We've stayed overnight in Yreka a few times, but never explored West Miner...More

Great shops from coffee/book store with home made muffins to find jewelry miner st. is a rare find. The friendly staff at every store is just as rare . I shop miner street at least once a week and always walk away with a treasure....More

This is a fun area to look at the buildings and just imagine the gold rush days. The old barbers are a fun bunch to sit and chat with.

Informative plaques on buildings guide you on your walk of this historic street, telling of the fire of 1871 and of the mining history of Yreka.

Nice variety of shopping and dining. Art gallery, Chamber of Commerce, restaurants and pubs all within a few blocks. Safe, quiet, friendly tourists and merchants.

This is worth a 10 minute detour off of interstate 5. A couple restaurants but not too much to see in Yreka.
