Fabulous from up close or even afar, particularly at night when the lights really bring it alive. Beautiful. Look out for regular live music concerts. They add another dimension. Fun place Santa Monica.

Santa Monica Pier is not pretty, has no connection to the environment and is something that is more disappointing than enjoyable. It's almost like a car park overwater. Overall if you visit Santa Monica you will likely visit the pier as part of having a...More

Yes, it is an icon for road trips. We drove a Corvette for a bit of Route 66 in California and Arizona, toured up the Pacific Coast and made a picture stop at Santa Monica pier. Breezy, cool and restful. Not much to eat or...More

What an awesome idea and place. I'm sure this is not that special to someone who lives by the ocean but to this inland travel Santa Monica pier is a one stop shop of cool. First of all the beach. The ocean is right there...More

Had a decent time just walking and people watching. Didn’t ride anything and not sure of the prices but the parking was very reasonable! Vendors along the pier selling things but not super pushy! Just a short walk to the mall

Took an Uber from our hotel in Venice beach to the pier. Good to have carnival feel after dark and also get the vibes and soul of the city with basker-like boardwalk entertainment.

Though a massive cliché and totally derivative, you still must make this trip to the Lourdes of LA. Long live the Ferris wheel.

nice and relaxing place. Just atch out from the crooks at the pier on the route 66 shop, they always try to take advantage of tourists.

First time goin to the pier the rides were not to bad. The creativity that was expressed in the board walk was amazing. The view of the beach and Santa Monica from the Pier was simply beautiful. I will certainly return to see the pier...More

Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a
balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a
thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers,
roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the
famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles
weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa
Monica pier spins high above the water, while park
revelers scream with delight riding the roller
