We stayed nearby "Moon Stone" beach and this is always a great place to walk to, meet people, enjoy the ocean, and look for shells, drift wood and moon stones. The moon stones are small white in color and translucent so you really have to...More

We were here at low tide exploring the exposed rocks and small tide pool areas. I still am not sure what a moonstone is but we had fun looking at all of the different kinds and colors of rock. The diversity of rocks was pretty...More

I love Moonstone Beach. Visit here and support the local businesses. It’s a beautiful spot. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else.

Beautiful (though windy and wild in early June) beach with lots of walkways along coast. See the tipis made of driftwood, kelp and crabs along beach. It's a little chilly in June.

We followed the trail. Its pretty easy. Along the coast and you can go down the beach. Some parts along the inn and restaurants Some are along residential beach houses. Go to Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill after.

Didn't think you could reply find Moonstones on the beach with all the human traffic it gets but, lo and behold, I walked to the waters edge and spotted a fine specimen within 5 minutes of hitting the beach!

I would guess that Bruce is probably correct. I actually quit hunting the stones quite some time ago and go down now just to be at water's edge where I have enjoyed this area for so long. Have fun.

I've never seen glass stones on the beach, but I've seen round tumbled-type stones at the very most north end. Follow the boardwalk north, it will end very close to a cement boat ramp. At the bottom of the boat ramp, you can... More

I don't think you'd want to do that at right at Moonstone Beach. There is pretty high currents and undertow around the very rocky shoreline. Go a couple miles north to the beach located right by the Cavalier hotel. They... More
