    San Miguel Olive Farm
We never intended to do a tour of an olive farm, but WOW!, we are SO happy Richard accommodated us. We fell in love with the taste of this precious olive oil and were able to meet Richard at the same time. We met him this morning at his beautiful farm. The weather was gorgeous and the view from his tasting room is stunning. Richard spent the time with us patiently and expertly explaining his pitfalls and triumphs of raising olives and making olive oil. Both of us being from farm families (not olives), it was quick to see his pride and pleasure in producing his amazing product. Fascinating beginning with a superior olive oil. We loved seeing the actual olives, checking the oil texture of the olive and learned to smell the ripeness of the olive. We had no idea of the varieties of olive trees, how they are pruned and sustained or the labor involved to bring these gems to fruition. We've gone on a variety of food production tours in the past, but this man and his graciousness and farm touched our hearts. We hope to be back. Thank you so very much!
Thank you for your comment. Farmer to farmer I am happy you enjoyed the tour. This was a high polyphenol morning.. Please try to make it for harvesting. We will be mailing out request forms for this event. Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

    Spectacular olive oil
My wife and I loved our visit to San Miguel Olive Farm. Richard spent a good hour with us explaining how he started the farm, tends to the trees and makes this award-winning olive oil. We are now huge fans of San Miguel Olive Farm olive oil! it was an education to learn about the health benefits of this specific olive oil. And how to differentiate between good and amazing olive oil. This was worth the trip.
Thank you Tim. Every tour is special. Please come again and taste our new oils in November. It looks like we will have a bountiful harvest this season High polyphenol olive oil producer, Richard & Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

YOU HAVE TO SCHEDULE A TOUR
We were traveling with friends in Paso Robles and our “guide friend” scheduled a tasting. We were greeted at the gate by Richard with a warm smile and his beautiful dog. We drove up to the house and after we parked, Richard sat with us under the umbrella and he began his presentation of how the property purchases came about. We were all mesmerized by his presentation. We then went to the tour of how the trees are maintained and got hands on. We then started our tasting. The information presented was enthralling. THIS IS A MUST. You won’t be sorry and you will definitely look at olive oil in a different and educated way. I can’t wait to go back next year.
Thank you for your comment, Another solid experience for people that would like to learn about olive oil. A little history goes a long way. Come again and taste our new oils. Richard & Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

The best Olive oil I have ever tasted, with a delightful owner/host
We found San Miguel Olive Farm on an internet search of things to do in Paso Robles, California. I made a reservation for a free private tour. Richard was available the next day at just the right time. We spent several hours learning about the history of his farm, the process of growing, harvesting, milling and finally bottling olives. Then we went into the comfortable tasting room where Richard poured and explained the differences in his oils. We tasted three excellent olive oils and a few balsamic vinegars. The pride and passion Richard shares for his farm and products it produces are the highlights of the tour. It is a 15 minute drive north of Paso Robles to the small town of San Miguel, and then just a few miles down a well maintained un paved road. This is an outing I will take others on, and I highly recommend it.
Thank you for your review. A fun educational and tasting experience.. if you are available in late October or November you are invited to harvest with us. Our first bottle of Olio Nuovo has been reserved for you. This oil should be ready by the first week in November. Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

    Amazing experience
Richard is one of the most amazing people you will ever meet. His passion in perfecting olive oil production is unmatched. His knowledge is unparallel. We went as a family with our 2 kids and we all had a wonderful experience. He made sure the kids were part of it all and took time to explain the whole process to them. Besides the amazing tour we got to do a tasting of their oils. There are no words to describe how delicious they are. It was worth the stop just to meet this amazing couple who run the farm

    Rare Find
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Richard at the San Miguel Olive Farm. With property in the area, we are always looking for fun new experiences when we have guests. Even though we love the local wineries, this was a great change of pace. Richard’s story about becoming an olive tree farmer is entertaining and inspiring. His story is fascinating and his passion for making the best olive oil possible is evident. After listening to Richard and seeing some of his precious trees, we were delighted with an oil and vinegar tasting. We enjoyed Richard’s amazing oil with a wonderful selection of balsamic vinegar added to it. I am so excited to receive my oil after his November harvest, and I absolutely recommend a visit to Richard’s olive tree farm!
Thank you for your comment Marjo, I remember we had a fun experience. Let's do it again soon. We are harvesting November 5 th, 6.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m. Email us if you can attend the harvest and with how many people. In early December you can bring a 5 gallon pail and harvest all the leftover olives on the trees. There will be many left to pick. Lovely Day at the Olive Farm
Richard was a wonderful host! He met us early and gave us a great rundown of olive oil, the benefits, and told us about the trees and his farm. We then got to harvest some olives to take home! The oils were so fresh and delicious. Worth the price for the freshest pure oil. We went with our kids, 9 and 11, and then had a great time visiting the farm. You can tell Richard takes pride in his product. Thanks for having us!
Thank you for the review. I am sure the kids had a great experience. Each review helps us grow. Enjoy your oil and the olives that you harvested. It was a lovely day at the farm. Hope to see you again. Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

    Amazing Experience
We were heading up to Paso for our first trip up. We have been to Napa, but our friends have been up to Paso multiple times and said we definitely have to go there. Typically, we do multiple wineries a day, but this trip we decided to only do about 1 to 2 and enjoy more of what the surrounding areas had to offer. We fell on San Miguel Olive Farm while searching for other adventures. We have been to Olive tastings multiple times in Italy and had no idea what to expect. When we arrived, Richard was waiting and even drove down to the gate to meet us. We spent about an hour and 15 minutes talking about the history of the farm, the types of trees and the processes they go through to make olive oil. After that, we spent probably 45 minutes tasting different olive oils and some of the adventures throughout the years Richard and his wife have been through. This was the most in-depth tasting and discussion about Olives and Oils we have ever been through. It was a great experience that I would suggest to Adults and Kids. Thanks for all the time and your knowledge Richard! Sincerely, Douglas and Hayley
Thank you Douglas and Hayley. High in polyphenols like our oils. Thank you for the review and hope to see you both next time you are in the Paso area. Possibly harvest time next October or November. Harvesting would be an amazing experience, possibly once in a lifetime . Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

This was such an interesting experience! We were met by Richard (owner/operator) at our appointed time. We had great directions and he was waiting for us. He spent time telling us about the farm and harvesting and all the awards won! He was clearly proud and wanted to share all he knew. We walked around a bit and looked at the trees and equipment used for harvesting. Would LOVE to come back during harvest time! Once inside we were treated to several samples of olive oil and vinegars. He walked us through the tasting with more info. The awards were everywhere! We purchased a couple of bottles of the olive oil and one of the flavored balsamic vinegars. Highly recommend this tour. A nice respite from all wines we had been sampling. Thank you again for such a fun outing!

A beautiful place and unforgettable experience. Richard and Myrna are so hospitable and passionate about making the best olive oil in the world. After the tasting I can honestly say I’ve never tasted better olive oil. My only regret is that we didn’t have time to stay longer to hear more about their farm and story!

I’ve always wanted to know how olive oil was produced. We met Richard at our hotel as he was sampling olive oils so we asked him about the process. He kindly invited us up to his farm that same day. He greeted us at the gate. It’s as if you were transported to another country . It’s beautiful, relaxing and educating. He teaches you all you need to know about the process from olive to oils including the harvesting and milling. Would definitely recommend

Richard's passion for olive oils was really evident throughout our tour and tasting, as we learned a great deal about the history of his farm, the intricacies of growing/maintaining olive trees, the extensive quality control measures behind the award-winning olive oils and key insights as to identifying a high quality finished product through the tasting process. The tour/tasting was fun, educational and set in beautiful surroundings!
