About
Le Cuvier is a boutique winery founded by Paso Robles legend John Munch. Committed to natural yeast fermentation, extensive neutral oak aging and dry-farmed fruit, Le Cuvier produces wines of a distinct character. Our standard tasting includes five wines with chef created food pairings. In addition to spectacular wine, our hilltop location features breathtaking views and outdoor seating. My wife & I first visited Le Cuvier over 20 years ago. We got to meet "The Legend", John Munch several times. On this visit, we got to visit with Clay Selkirk, the resident winemaker who was mentored y John (he's also an all-around cowboy). I've been touting Le Cuvier wines for over 2 decades and it's wonderful to see that the wines are all still exceptional! Clay sat with us, poured the wines and chatted with us like we were old friends! The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Do not miss a chance to visit!!!

Great mini food pairings at $40 a person
The hosts were lovely
The setting on top of an Adelaida hill was breathtaking

But to us the wines were just ok
Astringent and mild. Nothing captured us but we appreciated their philosophy about winemaking.

Just not for us.
We really liked the experience so no reflection on them. Just don't like that style of wines.

This was not a bad little winery, so not trying to throw shade, but it just didn’t have that one big wow factor that you’re looking for. We did the food/wine tasting and the pairings were very nice and artistically presented, although I would call them tiny bites. I like that they poured 3-4 of the flight glasses up front, so you could sip and move on at your leisure. The reading material about each wine was comical, bordering on straight up weird. So the tasting experience itself was good, just not great which = average. The biggest missed opportunity we saw was that they have their parking lot up high on the edge of a million dollar view and then you walk down to a very small patio with zero visibility, except where you look up at parked cars. Who designed that? Glad to have done it, but probably wouldn’t come back.

What a great place to experience wine tasting w/small bites food pairings!
One of the good things coming out of the pandemic is the smaller number of people at one time at the wineries (meaning you need to make reservations), and a more relaxed and enjoyable wine tasting. This is the perfect place - gorgeous hilltop location, delicious food, great wine, friendly & knowledgeable staff. Definitely a must visit!

An amazing experience with Moe! The food and wine pairings were amazing! A 11 vintage Chardonnay, wow and the Syrah and blends they served were off the charts! Next time we go we will do the full lunch as the paired bites were so amazing!

The Paso Robles region is exploding with many new wineries . We did the tasting with small bites—- 5 wines and small bites . Our host was informative and entertaining but there is no room to sit down inside the tasting room..... and the room was quite noisy. Basically a walk up tasting with pre-made small bites.
A higher end boutique type winery but they do not grow any of their grapes. Compared to other choices in Paso, Sonoma and Napa—— we thought wines were very good but at a relatively high price point for the quality

We do enjoy the wineries in Paso Robles, especially Le Cuvier, one of the premiere wine makers in the Valley. They are a true boutique winery, making small production lots of great varietals. They are a bit hard to find, on the west side of Paso, but worth the search.

This was one of the best wineries by far. Not only was the wine really good, they offer pairings of various cheeses and nibbles to accompany the tastings. Fun and delicious.

Outstanding wines with hor d'oeuvre pairings! Excellent service. Reasonable tasting fees but wines that are not cheap. Recommended!
