- Kathy J36 contributionsThe Art In WineThis was our first wine tasting in Paso Robles & it was the perfect start. Beautiful tasting room & a family owned winery with history on the land. The sculpture garden is beautiful to walk thru. The tasting was a full range of tastes & profiles. Will love to visit again in summer. Donna was our wine host & was great! Friendly & knowledgeable about the wine, winery & the area. Our dog Barley enjoyed the visit as well.Visited January 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 12, 2023
- Claude O3 contributionsA Delightful Change of PaceDonna gave wonderful tour of the Sculpture Garden with personal stories about the artists, their sculptures and the acquisition of them. She has direct knowledge from her interactions with the principals. It was a delightful and highly informative tour followed with a nice tasting of their wines. We highly recommend this tour.Visited April 2023Written May 2, 2023
- rwheelerSanta Clarita, California724 contributionsLoved everything about Sculpterra!Perfect end to our girls trip to Paso Robles. Of all the wineries we visited, Sculpterra was our favorite! Amazing ambiance and great tasting wine. Shelly who assisted us in our tasting was so knowledgeable and patient with us. Really wished we had gotten there sooner to be able to enjoy the music more. On the weekends they have live music until 3:30pm so plan accordingly. On our next girls trip we will be returning!Visited May 2023Traveled with friendsWritten May 8, 2023

- Susan EPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania1,041 contributionsGreat fun and surroundingsDon’t wait too long to make a reservation here on a weekend. We did and had to settle for a bar reservation but did end up getting moved over to the outside tasting area. Our wine expert was knowledgable about the wines and hearing the background of the owners and the collection of art was very interesting. We would definitely go back again. We should have listened to people telling us not to come here, but we were intrigued by the art and decided to check it out. Upon arriving at the tasting bar, we were completely ignored by our server until she was done with another party, not even given a splash of something to get us started while she finished with them, about 15 minutes on a hot day. Once we saw the tasting notes, which BLATANTLY requested tips for the server (how tacky!) we were given miniscule tastes of some terrible juice. The Pinot Grigio was passable so I thought I'd get a couple bottles just to get the tasting fee waived. But unlike EVERY winery I've been to in my life (so, so many) they do not extend this practice. We got the hell out of there. And we'll warn others and stress that they must heed our warning so they don't waste their time and money on this debacle.

We loved our visit to this winery. The grounds are beautiful, and the sculptures are crazy good. The wine is excellent, and the wine tasting experience was very good with a lot of history and geographical references included.

Sculpterra has great wines, served by knowledgeable, personable people, in a setting which no winery can match. This is a definite must see Winery. Call for reservations, because it is a very popular place.

Excellent winery! The staff was very friendly, the wine was amazing, and the sculptures were incredible. I went in for a tasting and left with 12 bottles of wine. It was a great way to celebrate a 5 year anniversary!

The place is really beautifull, wine its ok, but the two blond old ladies that sells you the wine are the worst expirience you will ever have, so be prepared!

I am not much of a wine person but have always wanted to visit a winery for the beauty of them and this one looks so pretty with the sculptures and all. Is it possible to visit here without tasting too much wine? Maybe just a glass each and just touring the winery? Is there an entrance fee? We plan to go in a few weeks to see the light exhibition @Sensorio and visit the Mission and would really love to visit the winery.

Yes, it is free to walk around the grounds, including the sculptures and vineyards. My wife and I really enjoyed this aspect. The wine part of our trip was very enjoyable as well. We had an excellent host and we weren’t pressured at all to buy anything. We especially enjoyed their Viognier and did purchase 2 bottles, but again, there was no pressure to do so. I believe you can enjoy this winery on several levels.

We are absolutely kid friendly! Our owner, Dr. Frankel, always wanted to create a winery you can bring your whole family to. Most kids(and adults too) love seeing the huge sculptures of horses and cats and mermaids that surround our tasting room, but when that excitement wears off some of the activities we have to keeps kids entertained include: coloring books and crayons, table tennis, foosball, bocce ball, chess, checkers, educational videos in our barrel room, and free wi-fi.

Please, who could tell me what the shade trees are lining the entrance walkway and throughout the grounds?
Thank you, Ruth

Hi Ruth,
Your first guess was exactly right! They are Chinese elms. We also have a lot of fruitless plum trees and white oak trees, but the shade trees throughout our garden are indeed Chinese elms.
Thanks for asking!
