About
Sensorio’s exhibits lie at the intersection of art, technology and nature. Laid out thoughtfully over acres of gently rolling hills, each exhibit uses light and color in a way that feels both completely natural and otherworldly at the same time. We’ve drawn on the creativity of master artist Bruce Munro – and with our newest exhibit DIMENSIONS by HYBYCOZO – to push the boundaries of imagination and scale in ways you’ve never seen.

- Reena PSunnyvale, California15 contributionsBeautiful Light Experience For All!Perfect venue and experience for the entire family. We took my teenage niece and my elderly in-laws with us. Everyone had a wonderful time. My father-in-law struggles to walk but we were able to use one of the complimentary wheelchairs available.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 27, 2024
- InnypersonStafford, United Kingdom688 contributionsA unique and beautiful experienceThis was a gorgeous art installation. Take it slowly and walk round the paths several times to fully appreciate the view from so many different angles. On a practical level, there is a car park, clean restrooms, food and drink available from more than one venue. We heard some lovely live music and watched the music in the provided chairs by the fire pits. An overall lovely night that we will always remember.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 7, 2024
- M YSan Mateo, California37 contributionsSensorio tantalizes your senses. Great evening experience.Beautiful solar powered field of lights. We visited in April on a warm clear evening which made the experience very pleasant. We arrived just as the sun was setting, so took some nice photos. As the sky darkened, we could see the twinkling stars above the twinkling field of lights. There are other light exhibits (jelly fish and towers), but we thought the fields were most unique and picturesque. Check out the various ticket prices and purchase tickets online. They have live music, food trucks and a gift shop. Apparently they will have new exhibits and ticket options at the end of May 2024. Paso Robles has a quaint downtown city park area filled with great restaurants and wine tasting options.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 9, 2024
- warrenbruinTehachapi, California158 contributionsGo once and decide for yourselfThe visual experience was at times enchanting, with a mystical feel, especially their new Dimensions display. It’s the other stuff that adds cost without value, like the worthless “VIP” experience, which felt nothing like such an upgrade should feel. Also, DO NOT buy either the crudite or the charcuterie (not enough for two as described, and certainly not worth $30!) The crowd seemed extra entitled, inconsiderate, and at times rude. I really liked the lights (except the fireflies, which looked like jellyfish), but the layout was a little choppy and confusing, and there were no announcements when that would have been helpful.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 25, 2024
- Alicia JBellevue, Washington29 contributionsMagical moonlight experience! The most stunning experience. We watched the sun set and the lights come on. What a transformation! Full moon too! Recommend sitting next to the fires to stay warm and wearing warm clothing. Had a stroller which was very helpful to navigate all the different art installations. Very magical night!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 25, 2024

Arrived right as they opened, got the perfect table on the Terrace, enjoyed 1 drink as part of the package, ordered pizza and salad , then walked over to the market to get some yummy Beignets to enjoy while the sun was setting and lights began to show off. After dark the walk thru the lights is beyond words!!!!Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 18, 2024

- chewpei467 contributionsBeautiful lightsWe enjoyed our visit to this unique site. It was a lovely evening weather-wise, and we thought the lights were beautiful. We had dinner beforehand in Paso Robles, which I'm glad we did because I thought the food choices weren't that good here. Paso Robles has lots of restaurants! We had the basic access, which is about $50/person. I was disappointed that one area (Fireflies), that was supposedly included, was fenced off. They sent an email that day letting us know. Maybe discount the ticket when you take a part away? It seemed quite expensive for what we saw and to charge more to see The Dimensions section is a rip off I think. I'm glad we saw it, and the place was clean and well organized. But I'm still trying to decide if it was worth it.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 11, 2024
- DJLJShelby Township, Michigan59 contributionsUnique and BeautifulVery cool experience. Beautiful, different, and a must-see if you’re in the area for the first time. We got the all access terrace package and were a little surprised at portion sizes. The included drink was so tiny! The food that comes with each ticket was enough for 2 or 3 people! So, something was out of whack there. We ended up throwing away a lot of the food, which I hate. Maybe they can create another tier of tickets which would cover more realistic food and drink needs. Ok, now that’s out of the way, the light show itself was awesome! Walking from section to section was really dark, so be careful that you don’t trip!Visited September 2024Traveled with friendsWritten October 15, 2024

It was a wonderful and fun experience. I came here w/ 2 guy friends and we noticed there were many couples and how this may not be suitable for 3 guys!
Simply beautiful and amazing! You are in awe at how beautiful it looks and wonder how they were able to put it together- so artistic and creative.
Tip to keep in mind is to buy tickets in advance and pay more so your are able to sit by the fire pits and tables to relax and wait for sun to go down. It's worth the extra money to not have to worry about where to sit. Also you get to use the more clean less people going bathrooms!
Food truck food was great so we didn't have to get food before or after coming here!
I would definitely come back!

This was a mandatory part of our Mini Girls Getaway and it was very unique! It kind of felt otherworldly and magical, with music to match the ambiance. We bought the Terrace All Access and Terrace + Platter All Access and the platter was pretty disappointing; there are other food options on grounds so I definitely recommend the Terrace All Access pass. All of us agreed that the pricing didn’t quite match the length and amenities but it was cool to see overall so no major gripes in the end.

Buying tickets on line ahead of time is cheaper. You’ll get a reminder email in the morning with the sunset hour, dusk hour, and temperature. We came on Friday 5/13 with sunset at 7:58 and dusk at 8:26. The day before the eclipse blood moon.
We came at 7:30 and left at 9. We didn’t drink or eat. I wanted to catch the sun set behind the mountains but that’s all you can really get until it gets dark. (Which never got dark because of the moon)
We made our way from the entrance to the Light Towers and just stayed there. At about 8:15, the towers started to light up and change colors. It’s a tiny area and had seating with music through the speakers. I wouldn’t lean on the seats because I saw a bunch of spiders and insects coming out of the rocks.
After getting photos of the Light Towers, we started to walk towards the field of lights. The sun was still displaying a faint layer of orange in the background so it wasn’t totally dark. On the opposite side, you have the moon that’s rising and about to be full the next day casting a bright sky. Staying another minute seemed like a decade so we left.
If I could do it all over again, I would come during dusk hours. If you drank and ate then it’s possible to stay until it got dark. They close at 10:30.
From the parking lot, you first walked through the security check point with metal detectors and they search your bags. Only unopened water bottles are allowed. No selfie sticks or tri pod. It can get pitch black inside so this is to prevent accidents. The lot is close so you can easily bring it back to the car.
After security, you walk towards a booth for ticket scans. Then you see mass lawn area with corn holes, connect four, fire pits for you to listen to live music. I saw two food trucks and one beverage truck. Also a VIP area with another food truck.
The restrooms are here then portable restrooms at the Light Towers. When you open the door, there are motion sensor lights that will turn on.
I saw people bring blankets to sit on the lawn or when it gets chilly. It does get chilly at night even on a hot day. I would like to come back on a day that is not a full moon.

Lovely lights, bad experience. Way overpriced. We anticipated a quiet, mystical experience and instead we were very irritated by waaay too many screaming kids and people jabbering loudly. It's in a rolling valley, so the loud conversations & kids crying carries all through the venue. We were coughing & sneezing from so much dust kicked up on the dirt paths (mainly by young teenagers running out of control in groups) and realized when we got back to the hotel that our shoes, our clothes, our bodies, and our car were all absolutely filthy with dust.
We specifically planned our romantic weekend away with an overpriced hotel & overpriced meals in Paso Robles centering around seeing this light show. It was a cool effect but only enough interest for about 15 minutes, and we both agree we would not recommend this event in its current condition.
We were there probably 2 hours because we wanted to take in some peace & tranquility, but we had to wait for so many large, loud groups to pass along and almost got bowled over several times by kids (unattended very young teenagers.) We are both parents with grandchildren; One of us is a teacher & the other a coach, so No, we are not anti-kids. We both agreed we would have paid more to have a night of quiet or at least nice music coordinating with a light show. The only music was inside the Towers, or bottle exhibit. BTW it looks much better in photos than in person.

This is a great evening activity for young and old alike. We got there before sunset and were able to see a sight similar to the one advertised with the sun setting over the colored hills. We walked to the end and chatted on one of the many benches placed around the fields. Think of the adventure as seeing an entire field of colorful wildflowers. But, the lights shine bright at night and the fiber optics change colors. If you spend enough time looking, it's almost like a slow wave of color changing from one side of the field to another The colorful towers are made of fiber optics in clear wine bottles. Each tower is a different color at one time, but changes over time. Walking through the tower area was nice, but I enjoyed it more looking from above. I think a higher observation point would have been better. Our group consisted of 4 seniors, 2 non-seniors, and 2 children. Everyone enjoyed the colors and fields. The walk was not strenuous and we took it at slowly for the 4 and 6 year olds. You need to walk the entire path because the perspective changes with each place you stand. Pictures do not do the visit justice - you have to see it! If you want to spend more time, they have food on site and live music. We skipped the music at the beginning and stayed for another half hour after our walk listening to a young man playing and singing a range of music from soft rock to country.
Our night was a warm one and it was nice to be outside. No food or drink is allowed in. Not a single mosquito bite! I think it had to do with the slight breeze. We did bring sweatshirts but they were not needed.

Go before it gets dark, to watch the transformation of the lights illuminating. So cool! It was quite cold, and several in our party weren't dressed heavily enough, so we didn't get to stay and enjoy the live music and games. We all agreed it was awesome, but $49 is pricey, it should be in the $20-30 range.

Came in 2023 and was amazed by the field of lights. Was with family who had never been to the area. We were lucky to get tickets. It’s hard to describe the overall vibe and what exactly this is. It was cold the night we went so I made sure to tell everyone to bundle up since you’re outside. My parents wanted to wait in the car and I had to drag them into the exhibit. By the end, they looked at me and said, “So beautiful and fun.”
The newest part of the exhibit, Dimensions, has seating and fire pits. There is also a beer and food truck. I ordered a pulled pork panini to share, we needed a snack. Pricey but delicious.
At the front of the exhibit there are food trucks and the “market/cafe”. Bathrooms were very clean.
If you don’t mind the price tag, I would def check this out.

Beautiful and pictures do not do it justice. We took a family road trip through California and this was one of our stops. Paso Robles was a very cute little town and from our hotel it wasn't far to drive to Sensorio. It was a little cooler so we bundled up and walked around on the pathway. I was glad I didn't spend the VIP ticket price since walking around was far more enjoyable. The lights were beautiful and it took us a few tries to get the lighting/setting down on our phones (no flash). If it wouldn't have been so cold I could have stayed longer since the lights were beautiful. It's definitely a must stop - our family consisted of people older than 18 and everyone truly enjoyed it.

This temporary art exhibit is extended until 6/2020, I would recommend going before it ends. It was so beautiful to watch the sunset and see the lights turn on and change colors. Please plan to walk at night on a dirt dark path.
You must buy tickets to the event, there are two types of tickets. The general admission are timed and do not include food or drink. The VIP tickets allow access all night to a VIP area with fire pits, tables, heaters and bathrooms. The VIP tickets also include dinner and two drinks.
Do not hesitate and go see this before it closes.

Way too expensive for what it is, but worth it to see once. We splurged on the terrace vip and the only real benefit is having a nice place to sit with hillside view if you get there before sundown. You can go back to the vip sitting area after you walk around, but we opted to sit by the live music instead in the “free zone”. The field of lights is very pretty as is Dimensions display. The gone fishing is interesting but can use some enhancements. All in all, it takes less than an hour to view all areas. Live music ended at 730.

What are the closest hotels/RV Parks to this event?
Written May 5, 2023
Sorry I missed your question - don't know about RV parks, although you can google it I'm sure. The closest hotel is probably La Quinta, or if you prefer better lodgings, there's the Allegretto Resort and Spa on North River Road which crosses Hwy 46 right near the intersection with the 101. Also, there's many hotels in Paso just along the 101.

The VIP experience mentions dinner and private bathrooms. Are those same dinner items available for purchase there? Also, don't see anything about "general admission" bathrooms. Is it... porter potties or something kind of nasty?
Written July 29, 2022
I believe when they talk about dinner they are just referring to the fact that VIP people have tables to sit at and eat. Regular admission does not have access to the VIP Terrace and one fast food building with the tables. Currently the two food trucks are available to all (the taco truck was DELICIOUS) and then VIP have a place to sit on the terrace with tables. Non-VIP would need to sit on the wall edges or go back to where the music stage is to have a seat and hold the food on their laps. In the future, they said they will have 2 restaurant areas of sorts but they have not completed construction yet. I think they are supposed to be completed in the next 3 years. As far as bathrooms, I don't recall noticing the ones outside of the VIP area, but I also don't recall seeing any port-a-potties. So I THINK they must have had a building there but I'm not sure. Anyone else know?
Written July 30, 2022
I've seen some reviews mention a dinner with the VIP experience, but I don't seen anything about it on their website. Is this still a thing or have they stopped doing it?

Does anyone know if dogs are allowed?
Written April 18, 2021
I do not believe dogs are not allowed. However, I'm certain special needs dogs are allowed. It is really dark on the trail while walking among the lights if a dog has to go potty.

1. I have a 26’ RV. Is there adequate parking for my vehicle? Might they have a special area for RVs to park?
2. I have looked at the map. How much walking is there if you walk from the main entrance to the “light towers” which appears to be the furthest point from the entrance?
Written April 8, 2021
I believe there is parking for larger vehicles. The lights are not that far a leisurely walk that can be enjoyed by an advantage point. (You will pass by food vendors before the lights) However, when you walk within the lights, it is a one way adventure which is about a mile walk. Defiantly worth the trip.
