Not large, but varied street food
Sep 2021
I went early because I wasn't sure about street closures and parking. Besides street food vendors, shops stayed open late. Something of an inconvenience that you can't take street food purchases into a bar, or take alcoholic beverages out of the bar even in the street-fair blocks.

Maybe Summer Weather had an Effect
Jul 2021
The VillageFest had started again a week before our arrival. It was god awful hot walking in the street and I felt sorry for the vendors. It was somewhat disappointing, maybe because it was summer and not all lenders came. I expected some farmers market items, but there were none and very few craft items available.
We did buy some dates and licorice from one of the vendors, and at very reasonable prices.

Reserve Thursday night for this weekly town fair
Dec 2020
[On hiatus during virus crisis.] Music, food and art--Downtown Palm Springs comes to life on Thursday nights! So much fun to stroll and take in the booths selling anything and everything. Check the website to see when Villagefest will return.

Enjoying the market in the dark.
Feb 2020
This is the VillageFest

It is a market in the dark.

It is really a long market. I had never seen a market in the dark.

However there were other people who had lots of lights.

There was food, lights.

I had never seen such a market. It was huge!

This is a must see!

Best Street Fair
Mar 2020
VillageFest is a wonderful, large street fair in downtown Palm Springs. Every Thursday night (year round) Palm Canyon Drive is closed to traffic so that vendors can set up and display their hand made art works, candles, photography, food, etc.. All vendors have to be certified, verifying that what they sell is 75% handmade; making this a street fair unlike any other. The stores and restaurants lining the street stay open and it's a festive atmosphere. The fair runs for many blocks, so there is a lot to enjoy. During the summer, the number of vendors and attendees goes down due to the heat (it can still be in the 90's at 10pm). The fair is at its largest during the fall/winter/spring months when 'snow birds' come to spend the winter in a warmer climate.
As of this writing, Village Fest is closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic - hopefully, it will be able to reopen soon.

Fun at the Village Fest in the ddark
Jan 2020
I had never sees so many vendors and mostly they had great items.

It was dark and many sold lights. That made it way more attractive.

There was a guy that made music, all by himself. It was amazing!

We could see almost everything in the Village Fest.

There were a lot of items. I don't think we missed anything, because there are so many vendors.

Everybody were very friendly and no pushed us out. This is a lovely Village fest. I would go back again!

A must see!

VILLAGEFEST IS A FUNFEST!
Mar 2020 • Friends
Great food, great merchandise, awesome crowd. Loved the energy. Plenty of eating establishments and bars open along the fest. I was at the Villagefest on March 5, 2020. The weather was perfect. I bought a few items from various vendors. "Some of Me Cards" are awesome & the vendor that sells only tamales are delicious. If you go to Palm Springs you have to attend their VILLAGEFEST!

So much good food to choose from
Feb 2020
Had the world's best hamburger ever! Starts out with half-pound of meat grilled to your order. So fresh, so good.
Another stand had tempura shrimp and vegetables.
So many options to choose from it will take a lifetime!

Girls getaway
Mar 2020 • Friends
We "girls" are all over 65 and had a fun time in Palm Springs. We were able to attend the Thursday night Village Fest. It was amazing how many vendors there were displaying their items. There was a ton of people walking and talking, eating snd drinking. A fun atmosphere. Once it starts up again, I highly recommend this event.

Great atmosphere!
Jan 2020
We were fortunate to be able to go here 2 Thursday evenings in a row. The vendors set up anytime after 5:30. The tables are spaced out on both sides of the street, so if you start at the end, you can do both sides. We got samples of kettle corn and chocolates, that we loved. So we bought more. Got some crafted jewelry and a neat garlic press. It was a great evening out and we felt very safe walking about.
Lots of free parking on ajacant streets if you take time to look. Just watch the signs, to see if you are allowed to park.
