This was our second visit to the PS Art Museum and very pleased with the quality and variety of the exhibitions. We were told to go on Thursday evening as the museum is open to the public but would have been worth paying the admission. The exhibits ranged from modern paintings to slightly quirky sculptures and a whole lot in between. Plan on at least an hour and a half to two hours to enjoy the different galleries.

We were in Palm Springs on a Thursday and heard about the free Thursday night event and what fun it was!!! We joined a nice crowd appreciating the art and afterwards went downstairs where we kept on having fun listening to the great music, sipping wine and appreciating the art down there. Definitely a terrific thing to do.

Definitely worth a visit, and we look forward to going every year. The curator does a terrific job of displaying unusual exhibits. One year, they had an exhibit of American Indian historical photos by Edward S. Curtis, Another time they had western paintings and wood work collected by or made by George Montgomery. Fantastic exhibit. They usually have several of his donated painting on display. This time they had Western Art with a silver saddle and lanyard made by prisoners. They often have a terrific glass collection. We visited in early February, and unfortunately the glass exhibit was closed, and no Chihuly glasswork nor chandelier (sigh). They used to have a lovely cafe/wine bar downstairs but apparently it had gone out of business. I hope someone takes over the space as it was fun to sit outside.

Great collections of art for a rather rural city. The permanent exhibition has some surprising and genuine art pieces in it. Well worth the visit.
Also very doable for young children as the museum is not too big and it has an interesting and accessible flow. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy it.

This museum was exceedingly poor. The exhibits were limited and overall not good at all. We always enjoy visiting art museums in the various places we visit but this one was sincerely one of the worst. Just very poor art choices overall and again, very small/limited choices.

Always worth a visit. We combined our Thursday evening visit with a trip to the Village Fest on Palm Canyon Drive. Parking is plentiful right across from the art museum. It is free and EV chargers are available.

Well staffed, clean, interesting. Definitely worth the time if in Palm Springs! Black History Month was being celebrated the evening we were there. I was glad to have been exposed to the wonderful event. Impressed by the art and the diversity. Beautifully displayed and easy to navigate the museum.

Yes
How much is the admission? "Everything you need to know" yet you leave out the cost. "Has free admission ALL THE TIME" yet only Thursdays for only 4 hours? A prestigious establishment should be more forthcoming.

Yes, 2 hours will allow you to cover all the exhibits, but if you get caught up in a documentary showing or like to read all descriptions, you might allow a bit more time.
