From this pier you can experience a lot of what Monterey has to offer. It's just a 10 minute walk along the pier and it's free. Suitable for everyone, wheelchair accessible.

It is a jetty stretching out from the famous Fisherman's Wharf and into the Monterey Marina. Here the Coast Guard ship is docked. There are many Sea Lions on this jetty and you must be careful not to provoke them as many are over 1,000...More

We took a walk out on the pier while visiting Monterey. We were pleasantly surprised to see numerous starfish on the rocks along the pier. There were also jellyfish, fish and other sea life. It was worth the walk.

Not a lot here except for a nice park and diving expeditions on weekends and holidays. There is a nice bar and finning joint near the harbor masters office.

This is a working Pier. It's not the prettiest fear in Monterey or on the California coast. Facing into the bay, the right side of the pier is closed off for working vessels. The left side of the pier is for fishing and for sightseeing....More

They have blocked off a lot of the area you could see the seals from. Sometimes you can look over the edge and the seals are right there on the rocks. They were further out this time and it was harder to see them.

Old Fisherman's Wharf is a nice place to stroll and eat. There are great views of the Monterey Bay. It usually crowded with visitors from around the world.

This is really a part of the walk around the whole area, but many folks don't walk all the way down to this spot. Great place to see the new Coast Guard equipment close up, but no access of course. Sea lions bask in the...More

When walking out to this point you hear the barking and roaring of the massive Sea Lions long before you spot them. If lucky some may glide into the water effortlessly. Pretty special - Nature up close!
