The Mendocino Coast is my favorite area along the Pacific Coast of CA. With great walking trails along the highlands and a picturesque town with restaurants and several beautiful places to stay, what more can anyone ask for in a weekend getaway?

You can't go wrong driving along the coast around Mendocino and visiting the small towns around it. You also have lovely woods within 20 minutes along any road that goes inland and the clean, fresh environment is so so refreshing. Don't miss it.

Gorgeous coast!! Drove today from Branscomb Rd in Laytonville to the epic Mendocino Coast. Beautiful drive along the coast. Lots of places to stop and look, take pictures or go walk out to the water. Just a fun time. Lunch with my favorite ex-sister in...More

US 1 is all views, hairpin turns and switchbacks, along the mountain edge overlooking the beautiful Pacific....it's not many miles but it is a long drive time-wise...slow traffic, but great views you want to enjoy and photograph.

My family loves this place. My husband and I rode our bikes throughout Mendocino on a sunny, windless day and took in some art boutiques and had a great lunch there. We also loved the old health food store that's inside a converted church..

The haves, and the Have-Nots are up against each other in Mendocino's Coastal area. You will not be welcomed by everyone. There is an underclass that is underground, and they are not savory, IMHO, Mendocino is NOT a Family Destination. Great to see the Redwoods,and...More

Just returned from a recent trip to the stunning Mendocino coastline and the equally charming little town!! Touristy but so worth a visit! We stayed at the JD House and had several meals at Patterson’s!

We spent 5 days driving highway 1 from SF to Fort Bragg. The Mendocino coast line is beautiful. Amazing cliffs, beautiful ocean and section of wonderful Redwood Forrests. Whilst the coastline and its towns are wonderful, it’s definitely worth heading up highway 128 or highway...More

Ruggedly beautiful coastline! Wonderful walking trails, many coves to look at. Sunsets can't be beat. Great restaurants although there are not many. I have never found one that wasn't good.

There are several walks along the coast. Actually I think the one in Fort Bragg is nicer than the one in Mendocino. Also, the private garden walk in Fort Bragg is worth the admission price.

It should be easy this time of year but in the summer you must book to get a good hotel or guest cottage.
