Neighborhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

    Wow - Wow - Wow
I wanted to go to a food market and my nephew knew exactly where to take me! To be honest, when first stepping in there, it was overwhelming to me. After looking around at all the vendors, I decided to purchase Korean BBQ - and it was delicious! I was with two others and they each decided on different food, so it was great to be in a place where that is available. Alcohol is also available if you choose. There are tables there, but it took us a while to find a seat because it was very crowded on the day we went.

Great food market worth the visit
We stopped in a few times as the variety of food was outstanding. From donuts, to seafood, to tacos etc. Fresh and tasty. Clean , safe, busy but worth the lines . Not huge but a colorful spot to visit

    Downtown food market
Definitely worth the time, this market did not disappoint. My children and I can’t wait to go back and try more restaurants. Right now, our 2 favorites were the Lobster roll spot which had the best one I have ever had. They also made banana pudding for dessert which was delicious . My second favorite spot was Taco de Carnitos spot. They were some of the best tacos I’ve had in Socal

    So much choice!!
Great place to visit, hustling and bustling. So many food choices to spoil yourselves with at reasonable prices. Good for couples, families and friends who maybe have different food preferences as you can choose a communal table and bring food from any of the food stalls. Includes seafood, Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Thai foods, etc, as well as fresh fruit stall and magnificent selection of dried chillis/seeds/nuts. A great place to people watch too. Communal tables kept clean, so a good place all round.

Good variety in an upbeat place, worth a visit!
Lots of options. Fun time browsing and selecting what to eat. My son said his burger was one of the best he’s had recently. My meal wasn’t That great. You’ll have a hard time finding much below $15 if you have a good appetite though. So just be prepared to spend for the experience.

Great Array of Eateries in Downtown LA
We found this place by accident, opposite the bottom of Angels' Flight. It was busy on a Tuesday morning, largely with visitors, plus a few people in business attire coming in for an early lunch. Mexican, Chinese, Salvadorian cuisines, plus burgers, wraps, sanwiches, a butcher, fresh produce, even a jeweler! We had breakfast at Egg Sl*t, and later dinner at Golden Road brewery.

    Must experience, many options
You would be spoilt for choice here - I was! It’s not posh or air-conditioned but has so much character. While it is hot in summer, it’s covered overhear so it’s not unbearable. More like a huge market with heaps of cuisine options - international kitchens as well as your regular pizza, boba tea etc. Also it’s tight I’m the middle of downtown and all the other landmarks you should see in Los Angeles, so I would definitely recommend a meal here :)

Great Old Market with Lots of Food
The Grand Central Market is downtown Los Angeles's old public market. It is currently given over almost entirely to eateries of a great variety, many of which are quite good or excellent. There are a few holdovers, including a produce vendor, sellers of pins ans souvenirs, and there are merchants selling clothing, etc. We first went here may years ago and it has changed a lot since then. When we were first here, it was much more quiet and basically entirely devoid of tourists - but back then, as recently as 2011, downtown LA was basically devoid of tourists or the large crowds of affluent, hipsters, etc., that have moved in since then. Most of the eateries here now were not there when we last actually spent time here in 2011, although there are still a few old places which have been here for decades. It's a great place to go to choose from a huge range of things to eat or drink, do a little shopping and see a little piece of old LA, as gentrified as it has become notwithstanding.

Great place to eat and socialise.
This is a great find if you’re staying in the area. It opens from 8-8 seven days a week and has numerous food stalls serving just about any variety of ethnic food you could wish for. Great vibe and is obviously used by the locals as well as tourists. And it has restrooms and a bar!

I took my out of town guest here, and it was my first time as well. I think it was one of her favorite things that we did for her visit! Strolled the whole space in amazement and finally settled on a lobster roll for lunch and a donut for dessert! Got directions to the parking garage so that was super convenient. Would love to go on a weekend when they are having the bazaar, but a really fun stop nevertheless!

There's a great variety of options to eat as well as produce for sale. There are various places to sit and eat throughout the market, and there are bathrooms on the lower level. I had a chicken quesadilla from Anna Maria's and it was delicious. The horchata was good as well. There was a line but it was worth it.
