This park takes us back in history to the gold days in California. The old stamp Mill is standing (although you can't go in for safety reasons). Look for the Gold Rush weekend event.Starts with pancakes and then tours of all the buildings are open...More

A bench along the Talking Forest trail was unusable, a small bridge looked like it might collapse and the museum exhibits faded -- camping sites looked fabulous. The small grey squirrel dragging a pine cone bigger than he was not happy about seeing a human...More

I have been coming to this park since I was ten years old. My wife and I brought our children, and we have continued to visit. It has very spacious sites, and hot showers. It is also conveniently located to hiking and fishing, as well...More

A really pretty route to take to catch some of the really beautiful areas of this forest. It was busy on the road so had to take it slowly and stop at various vista stops to take it all in. Some places are high!

My son, my grandson and I learned about 'fire assaying'. It will make a great science fair project. The museum was interesting. It seems they have lost some funding to please make a contribution to keep California history alive!

This park has TONS of mining history. If you are in the area and even if you are not it is worth the trip. I went through the park on my way to higher 4x4 peaks nearby. The park surprised me with its preserved history...More

We have lived near here for 35 years and our bluegrass band plays every year for their yearly pancake breakfast fundraiser. This is a great place to experience California history of gold mining. Docents do a very good job explaining how the stamp mill worked...More

We checked out the Park recently and will definitely come back for a camping trip. So much history and scenic beauty. Campground is tucked deep into the park. Great for hikes.
