This is the small-town equivalent of a big city "arthouse cinema". You can be sure that they show the best of this kind of movies which otherwise would never reach a town like Chico. The theatre itself remembers of the forties and fifties. The old...More

Old theater that shows movies you likely won't see in the "regular" theaters. Some art films and older stuff. I've seen a few really good movies in this place.

This is my favorite theater in town! It is very casual and you can even bring your own food and drinks into the theatre. They always show movies that are not the typical Cinemark variety. Some of the best movies I have ever seen I...More

It isn't the biggest space you'll ever sit in and you can only buy tickets with cash. Even with that, you'll have an nostalgic experience that celebrates an intimate moving experience. One that includes optional front row sitting on a series of couches no less....More

We are lucky to have an independent theater Chico. It runs movies that don't show up in the big megaplex. It has a small business feel that I like. Ticket and popcorn prices are very reasonable.

Chico's only independent movie house. The best in thoughtful, provocative, international and art films. Comfortable, relaxed, updated sound and screen. Bring your own beverage and dinner. Plush seats with a couch, too! Great movies with the bonus of Cheap-O Monday movie nights.

What's not to love about the Pageant? Godzilla mural? Check! Auditorium seats or couches-- a choice? Check! A variety of independent and Hollywood films each week? Check! The opportunity to rent out the theater for private events? Check! Buy snacks at the Pageant or carry...More

Since its recent refurbishing--with new, more comfy seats, better sound & a digital screen--the Pageant has only gotten better. Their thoughtfully-curated selection of less-well known but excellent films is well worth checking out. Art films, international films, documentaries and much more. Not the stuff you...More

My favorite place to see a movie. The Pageant doesn't offer the typical bang-bang, car chase movies. They offer a mature, diverse choice of movie entertainment. They recently did a cloud campaign and now have a new projector and comfy seats. The front row consists...More
