You have to stop and see but really it wasn't that special. Clean yes. It was nice to see a school was part of the property. I wish we were there for Mass, that would have been nice.

The Carmel Mission & Basilica situated in Carmel just outside Monterey in California is a tremendous place of peace and tranquility which everyone should try to experience, quite apart from its religious overtones. You leave a better person than you entered.

Well worth a visit old Spanish mission beautiful architecture and courtyards. The gardens on the grounds are a treat. Very nice gift shop.

If you enjoy visiting California's Mission, take time to visit the Carmel Mission when you are in the Carmel area. Its a lovely, well maintained mission and definitely worth a visit.

The Mission is a fully function church. They celebrate mass.
