The area
Neighborhood: Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.

If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of shopping on Rodeo Drive, recommend a visit to the Beverly Gardens Park. This 1.9 mile, 22 block long park runs along Santa Monica Boulevard. This Park is a green zone between the northern residential area and the busy commercial district of the city. Beverly Gardens Park has a two-mile jogging / hiking trail, hundreds of shade trees, a rose and cactus gardens, and exceptional display of public art located throughout the park. The forty-foot-long Beverly Hills Monument Sign and Lily Pond is also located in this park. Every six months (May & October) the Beverly Hills Art Show is held in front of the Beverly Hill Sign. This activity brings in 50,000+ tourist to the city. As Beverly Hills is a Public Art city, this Park has numerous outstanding pieces of art displayed in the park. “Erratic”, “Takeaway”, “The Drummer”, “Sitting Figure on Bench”, and “Endless V” are just a few of the many pieces of art on display. The colorful “Hymn of Life: Tulips” sculpture has been removed and is currently undergoing repairs. Its return date is currently unknown. Each sculpture is unique, but a wonderful touch to this great park. Two spectacular water fountains (The Wilshire Electrical Fountain and The Doheny Fountain) can also be found in the park. Numerous benches are found along the jogging trails, ideal for those desiring to rest their tired weary feet. Situated in front of the park, is the Morton Bay Fig Tree, an iconic symbol of Beverly Hills. Spent an enjoyable two hours at this park, hiking the trails, and viewing the many exceptional sculptures on display. This is a must visit location if your interested in art or just want to get out and spend some time in the sun

We took the kids and dogs here for a nice afternoon walk. The park was clean and was busy for a Monday afternoon. Mostly tourists taking pictures in front of the Beverly Hills sign. We spent about an hour here and moved on to a park a few minutes down the road. Has some interesting sculptures and nice old large trees. It’s off Rodeo drive and what seemed to be a safe area.

Is there parking available

Yes, I am originally from Beverly Hills, and I always visit the park when I am town. You can walk it or jog the path from Doheny Dr (the border with West Hollywood) to Whittier Blvd across from the BH Hilton. Along the park you can street park on the north south streets unless there are resident signs. There is some metered parking on Canon Dr, Beverly Dr and Rodeo Dr. Also, across Santa Monica Blvd to the South is metered City of Beverly Hills Parking structures.
