Beautiful gates can be seen on the ride to Jahaz Mahal. They have quite interesting names and show the historical richness of the place. Do notice on your way up.

It was really sad to notice absence of any repair/renovation of heritage of this area, which includes various gateways or Darwazas, which includes, Alamgir Darwaza and Bhangi Darwaza. Govt must work towards preservation of these dilapidated structures. We were surprised to see the inscription on...More

There is no such place as 12 darwazas. These are ruins of Mandu. Not a good idea to search and visit.

Mandu has number of gates where hilly stoop begins. There are around seven gates (darwazas) which are know by different names. Once they were important from safety point of view but are now in ruins.

There were supposedly 12 gates to enter Mandu which were used as checkposts to enter the city. Currently when you visit through the ruins you would pass through ostly the 2 gates both very impressive.

U will see these gates while entering mandu. Small entrance only one vehicle at a time can pass but historic gates. Well maintained. These were the entrance gates to mandu fort of that time. Every gate has its own story.

While travelling to Mandu, you will pass through huge structured gates, which were used as checkposts. The good one a good click.
