We were traveling around Bulgaria. Visited vilages, nature, citys and resort. For an overall feel of the country. So Bansko was on the list for and afternoon and sleepover. I must say, I really like what was done with the old town. It is really...More

The place is overbuilt with hotels, with very poor infrastructure and bad services. A unique UNESCO natural world heritage site is damaged for the sake of a single oligarch's profit - the owner of the ski zone. Besides the bad services, every single day of...More

The owner of Ulen is Tseko Minev, who is also owner of First Investment Bank in Bulgaria. They destroyed everything beautiful and attractive in the area, turned Bansko into a wreck of concrete, spoiled roads, abandoned hotels .. this is a great money laundering company...More

Bansko is an overrrated and overpriced tourist-trap. There's not much left to see there except many many hotels, muddy streets and an awful ski-service. Most Bulgarians have stopped picking this place for a holiday a long time ago, so don't fool yourself to go there.

Busy, noisy, overcrowded by ugly hotels and casinos, full of suspicious looking individuals, and the service... the service is horrible. They just want your money

The city is overbuilt with terrible huge hotels, the streets were dirty, the prices are too high for what they offer. The nature is very beautiful though. I definitely would prefer Borovets or Pamporovo in Bulgaria or Austria.

The place reminds more like Ibiza than a nice and quiet mountain town as it supposed to be. Overbuild with ugly hotels and resorts it's ruining the idea of a holiday in the mountains. The prices are almost the same as any ski resorts in...More

What can I say, I felt like I was in Beijing... it is extremely crowded. There are probably 200 hotels. Cars everywhere, no parking spots. Probably this was a good resort 150 hotels ago. The views are fantastic but if you want a good ski...More

First of all, expect to waste 1-2 hours every day waiting for the gondola and add 45 minutes to go to the top. When you get there, many hills are over-crowded with many unskilled skiers. On top of that, the level of service is very,...More
