A beautiful city, listed in the UNESCO world heritage list. Stone build houses, cobble stone streets and very friendly people. The center of the city is dominated by an imposing castle within which there is an impressive weapons museum from the cold war and wwii.

The bazaar was smaller than expected and the selection was not much. Articles from Greece as well as Albania. Most rugs machine made ,not had made. They have part of it under construction with scaffolding. When this upgrade is finished, looks like a few more...More

Nice bazaar, with some cosy restaurants. and of course nice souveni shops. Parking is close by, and also some points of interest. like the castle and blue eye.

Its cloak of scaffolding and sagging green draping renders Gjirokastra Bazaar very unromantic just now. You cannot view much of the buildings that gave this town its UNESCO rank. Lack of sidewalks and many autos struggling up the steep cobblestone streets make strolling unpleasant. Some...More

On the plus side, there are a few shops offering interesting local/Albanian products (including two hand woven wool pillow covers that I bought; also an elderly fellow doing stone carvings) as well as several streetside cafes frequented mainly by locals. On the downside, on-going construction...More

Currently under major renovation but still able to display the quaint village atmosphere of small shopkeepers. Fortunately very few tourist shops- so far. The stonemason working away outside his shop is memorable. Lots of sidewalk coffee bars, small convenience shops and restaurants. An interesting walk.

These are just a few streets of old-style shops, many selling souvenirs of mixed quality. Unfortunately, the cars struggle by on the steep cobbles making it not very relaxing. As of May 2017 almost the entire area is enveloped in scaffolding - the shops are...More

When you read 'Old Bazar' it conjures up a certain atmosphere in your mind with a sense of a quaint and traditional market. It isn't. I mean, there's nothing wrong with it, there are some souvenir shops with good buys inside. Just don't expect anything...More

I had lunch at Kujtimi and I was happy with the food and service. I only suggest it for nice weather though, sitting outside is very nice. Inside area is small and I did not enjoy it much. In the same area I tried Kodra and... More
