This is a beautiful Buddha to see in person. Very different from so many of the golden Buddha statures. Lovely murals painting on the walls. This temple has been preserved very well.

RENT AN ELECTRIC BIKE. ANY PERSON OF ANY AGE CAN USE THESE.. You will not see anything if you rent a taxi or a stupid horse and cart

This was so interesting with the story of the monks drawn on the walls. Huge towering ceilings and cool tile walkways lead us around this historic beauty. Be sure to rent a bike and see in as you pedal through the countryside.

This is an absolute gem that most tourist and tours just drive by which is a shame. The rather squat building just off the road does not look much from the outside but ask the key keeper to let you in and wow. The inside...More

This is a smallish temple (or should I call it a pagoda?) and it contains some fine statues of Buddha, of course, but more dazzling are the wall paintings. They are faded but still worth the visit.

Htilominlo Pahto is easily identifiable as there is a signage prominently displaced at the road junction but not for Upali Thein. But the pagoda is just opposite the Htilominlo Pahto on the right along Bagan-Nyaung U Road. Upali Thein Pagoda don't look appealing to me...More

This small house is pretty, but you are not allowed to take pictures of the inside. The outside is quite plain.

Amongst the myriad of temples, pagodas and stupas, some statues remain. After a hundred years of exploring and studying there would still be thousands of years of material to pour through. So I will not try. I will suggest that it is worth the visit...More

Beautiful internal paintings, sadly no photos allowed. Not a temple per se. Just off the road on right heading into Old Bagan on the top road
