This is not, let me say, the prime category temple you're about to visit, as it's not that big and famous. But, this one stands out for great frescoes inside, maybe the best in all Bagan. On the other side, it was I think, the...More

I could again enjoy the fascinating inside with lots of paintings and their stories, followed by a giant Buddha statue. Unfortunately it was not allowed to take pictures but it was just stunning to see this little temple.

This temple was built in 1113 and is famed for its murals that were restored by UNESCO in the mid 1970's. No photo's are allowed inside but there is a light that that you can use to go around and see otherwise it is quite...More

Although the exterior is rather worn ( but lovely stuccowork round some windows), the dark interior has some amazing murals which were restored in the 1980. Sadly, but understandably we weren't allowed to take photos. While in Myinkaba we had the great privilege of witnessing...More

We visited this temple as number 13 in one day so we were a bit ‘templed out’ when we reached this one. My suggestion is that you pick less than 10 a day and visit the temples over two or three days. This one didn’t...More

Gubyaukgyi has many outstanding frescoes adorning the interior walls. You are not allowed to take photos, but don’t let you deter you from enjoying seeing this incredible artwork.

This building has many exquisite frescoes, telling the life story of Bhudda. The interior is dark and our tour guide made good use of her torch to illuminate the upper walls. Sadly some of the frescoes within easy reach, at ground level, were removed by...More

This is a nice architecture with beautiful temple. Many things to see and lots of information. Should go with a local guide for more interesting stories

Completed 904 years ago and the Fresco's on the interior walls are still preserved after all this time depicting stories of Buddhas previous lives. Beautiful just a pity that the Germans during the war have taken the lower frescos.
