This is a very different Bagan experience, rather than lots of Buddha statues it had some wonderful sandstone carvings. These are very intricate and well worth seeing. The temple has been damaged in an earthquake, so you can only go part way; however you can...More

We visited in the afternoon and found examples of fine sandstone carvings both outside and inside. In particular, there were some wonderful windows with 30 holes cut to admit light to the interior. The inside is dark and sometimes you have to take a flash...More

What set this pagoda apart is its stone carving. The pagoda itself is small and not much to see, but rather than mural paintings, it has stone carvings on the wall. If you have time, take a look.

It is not difficult to get pagoda overload while visiting Bagan. My partner and I opted for a guide and driver and in four days covered a lot of Bagan and learned a great deal of information to accompany the 'wow that's awesome' factor and...More

There's a little sand painting artist who offered the tourists for temporary painting on our arm or hand. It looks very classic and no need to pay.

Loved the stone carvings, which are only visible from the entrance side and best with a torch. There were loads of tourists inside the small temple when I visited, so it is best to wait for a few minutes to get a clear view which...More

Taken there by tour guide. This pagoda is next to Manuha temple and good for a short visit. It has some Buddhist wall paintings but more Hindu design (central open space, kind of like at Angkor Wat in Cambodia), and interesting carving on side of...More

Some may pass this by but it has the finest stone carvings in Bagan. It's also right next to the Manuha temple which you will want to see so why not pop next door and take a peek. It was not busy when we visited...More

There is so much on offer in Bagan and New Bagan that you might be tempted to leave this temple off your list, but if you have time there are some wonderful, intricate carvings to see. When we visited metal supports had been placed inside...More
