it is built in the second century by the king Karikala Cholan. it is 18 Kms away from Trichy. Most of the travellors to Trichy used to visit this picnic spot atleast once

With all such great development around Grand Anaicut stands proudly to demonstrate that Tamilnadu had great engineers. When we connect with locals they call back the old memoirs that how useful was this dam.
