Girls at Major Blu Air was very welcoming and friendly and gave us good advice as to the best time to do the trip. They handled the paperwork very professional and made us comfortable. the trip over the swamps is a one in a lifetime experience! We saw a lot of animals, did not know where to look! The pilot was informative, professional and we felt safe with him. We got a good idea of the swamps from the air and a definitive bucket list experience!

We were very impressed with this operation. The office was efficient and friendly and our pilot spoke better English than us (and we’re English).
The flight over the Delta was a once in a lifetime experience. We saw lots of wildlife and the pilot was on the ball identifying all of the animals for us.
Wouldn’t hesitate to take this trip again.

This scenic flight operator is located in front of Maun Airport and also flies to the Okavango Delta: an obligatory thing to do if you go to Botswana. The flight lasts just under an hour and you can see a lot, above all you can really understand the real extent of the area. The planes are small but quite comfortable. Highly recommended. Both the ride and this operator, which is one of the best.

First I want to state that our pilot and the flight itself were great and I highly recommend a scenic flight across the okavango delta to everyone.
Unfortunately our experience with this company was terrible. After I confirmed our flight two days before we arrived in Maun for 7 o'clock in the morning, we were there in time, but the office was still closed. The lady taking care of the office was too late. After she finally arrived she told us we have no reservation. After I showed her her own email and our invoice, she blamed the main office and told me we can have a flight at 9. I told her that we were going to be picked up from our Safari company at 9:30, that a change in schedule would be not possible and demanded a refund. She refused a refund and though to the risk of loosing our money we rearranged with the safari company. Telling the lady that we are now under a very thight schedule she guaranteed a flight at 9. We left at 09:45......

MD gave us great confidence and flew us on two long transits between camps in a very small 4 seater. He was clearly hugely competent and did is best to avoid the worst turbulence. Great help from the ground team in Maun as well. We highly recommend.

First, the flight left 40 minutes late.
Second, this is company providing "scenic" flights. I sat next to the pilot and the front window was dirty, making it difficult to see out of. I can't really think of anything more basic than for the customer to see out the window for a scenic flight.
After the flight I mentioned this to the pilot. His response. "I am too busy to clean the window, I had too many flights today" Possibly hire someone to clean the window if this is too difficult. He told me to go to the office.
I go to the office to speak to the staff and shared my frustration. She responded that she "sincerely apologized and I will take that into account for the next flight". I am not sure how that helps me.
You should get out of the business if cleaning the windows is too difficult.
Why am I spending $200 for partial visibility?

Quite and unexpected experience flying with this company. Staff in the office were quite inefficient and I had to ask twice to get a ticket issued! What really concerned me and should be a concern for other travellers is the fact that your luggage is not weighed prior to takeoff? Surely this is a standard for any airline....Planes are very clean and comfortable and pilots very efficient.

I visited Botswana for the first time for business and dealt with Major Blue for our transportation needs - it was a delight - the staff looked after us very well specially on our charter flight to Johannesburg very early in the morning- Aircraft are kept very clean and Maintainence levels are superb - they are a must use operator in Botswana - just tell them what you want and you can just close your eyes and leave all worries to them

How incredibly awe-inspiring to take in the grandeur of the Okavango Delta, the 1,000th inductee into the UNESCO World Heritage List, via private plane. Major Blue Air charters flights over this expansive and ecologically diverse habitat. Located directly across the street from the airport, scheduling a tour is easy. A professional team of pilots and fleet of planes ensure a memorable experience as you soar over herds of elephants and giraffes and the shimmering light of the sun on the numerous waterways winding their away across the beautifully green delta. There is also a great bar on the corner nearby for pre/post drinks.

I have found Major Blue pilots to be competent in the conditions offered in Africa - variable winds and even more variable airstrips. Their confidence gave me the security to know we would land in one piece

How strict are the 60 x 30 x 20 cm luggage restrictions. My wife and I have two soft bags that are 72cm long x 30 x 20. Will that be an issue?

We bought bags specifically to meet the size restriction so I can't say for certain, but those bags seem "close enough" to not be a problem. I do remember that the compartment that the bags go in is very small. It will likely be fine as long as your flight isn't full with other people carrying oversized bags (we were the only 4 people on our 6 seater flight, so there was plenty of space).
