Easy to get to by bus from the new Cafayate station. Dramatic stone formations that are great for photos...in fact, the entire surrounding area is fascinating...a truly dramatic landscape! When you're finished at La Garganta just wait on the other side of the highway for...More

We saw this as part of our drive along Routa 68 and one of the many stops after the Quebrada de la Conchas. Every stop is worth it as they are all so different. Extremely beautiful scenery and rock formations. This short cave-like gorge was...More

Great site to see, be careful though, there was a small cave in/rock slide while we were inside - no supervision or help is nearby.

The is a remarkable site along route 68 near Cafayate. Appropriately named it is an absolute must stop if you’re driving this way. There is ample parking and it’s a very short walk to view the huge cavern.

This is the highlight of all there is to see on the ruta national 68, between Salta and Cafayate. Exceptional natural beauty awaits you. Avoid if you can week ends and the high season. Try to get there in the morning as it is quieter...More

All along route 68, there are incredibly stunning rock formations, many named by the locals or visitors, with names that remind you of people, andimals or plants. La garganta del Diablo (or Devil's Throat), is, as you might imaginne, an impressive narroing of the road,...More

We drove our rental car 140 km south from our Salta hotel. The first 100 km are through small villages and flat farmland. The nice highway continues as it winds through the mountains. This fault in the red sandstone canyon is well marked and has...More

Spectacular natural formations...marred by the graffiti of a few juvenile idiots. To get inside the canyon need to climb a little so no flip-flops.
