The catamaran cruise was quite nice and the guide knew a lot about the area and could really give you a great history lesson. We saw a lot of dolphins and penguins as well. We had previously been on a catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay as well and when you compare these two cruises to one another (they cost the same), then this one was not worth the money at all. At the Walvis Bay cruise we got a whole breakfast with oysters and champagne etc., but on this one we only got one cup of hot chocolate. We were really starving after the cruise was finally done. So remember to bring your own snacks if you decide to go on the cruise.

We did this trip early Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful. Due to the prolonged effect of COVID 19, myself and my teenage daughter were the only guests on board !! With only to guests our host still held nothing back. We got the FULL show. Very well informed young man, well educated on the rich history of Luderitz, and totally informed on ocean life !! The tour was un rivalled by any guided tour we ever did. We saw Various bird species, Penguins, Dolphins, seals, even a bird that only life over the ocean !! 😜 I would strongly recommend any travel to get out of lockdown blues, and revive your soul on this fantastic trip.

It was misty and cold when we left. Fortunately we were supplied with ponchos at the boot otherwise it would have been very cold. We were still able to see hundreds of penguins through the mist. When we made a tour by car along the Luderitz Peninsula, I noted that island with the penguins is near the coast and it was possible to see penguins from the coast. With the tour you see the other side of the islands, the penguins are more close and there are more at the other side of the islands. If you are prone to sea sickness or short by cash, but you have you own wheels, you could consider viewing the penguins from the coast. I made a similar tour in Walvis Bay. Than I saw thousands of seals and few penguins. In Luderlitz it was the other way around. Watch out for the steps to the toilets at the boat, these can be slippery.
