I would recommend doing this on a Sunday morning if you're in the mood to share the trail with tons of locals. It's a weekly tradition and they even close down some of the mountain's lower roads.

Right in the city you can enjoy nature. Trekking, hiking, trail running. Excellent view, pure air, nice climate. Great for exercising and getting in shape as you climb the mountain periodically. Good getaway from hectic city.

The National Avila Park at Caracas City, Venezuela is a big park that anybody can see from anyplace of the city. The visitors can use a cable car to go to the top of the mountain.

The best place to go up is via Sabas Nieves, Altamira. It is safe and you can see a lot of people hiking there. You can find parallel machine to work out. Up in Sabas Nieves try the ice cream
