We arrive at El Chalten and start our first trek towards this picturesque waterfall. The bucolic landscape that surrounds it and the force with which the water falls is interesting. I also wonder if in summer there is the possibility of bathing in this freshness of nature. The water that emanates from there looks absolutely clean, which makes it very natural as a spring and a pleasant place to take beautiful photos.
When many visitors gather there is not much space to move and get closer because the ground has quite a few stones that are somewhat slippery. But the most daring usually approach just a few meters away and feel a more pleasant sensation. And in El Chalten there are many of them.

This is certainly no bucket list waterfall like Niagara or Iguazu. Not something to do on a busy hiking schedule. But it was a nice short hike to relax by the falls if you're tired of long treks and are relaxing in town. You can easily walk there from Chalten. You can follow the unpaved road and eat dust raised by the vehicles driving to the falls or beyond to Laguna del Desierto. But I would recommend the walking trail that starts at parking lot at the start of the Laguna de los Tres hike. Look for the sign at the far end of the parking. The trail roughly parallels the road and crosses it a couple of times, and for a short stretch you have to walk the road. But its a pleasant walk along the hillside and then along the river valley through field and forest. Its less than an hour walk at a very leisurely pace.
The falls can be a nice break on a hot day and we took off our shoes and walked in the very cold water. Its a nice place to relax and strike up conversation with fellow travellers. We lingered for about an hour. It can get crowded at times as there's a parking lot closeby.

We have been to LOTS of waterfalls all over the world, so we had low expectations for this one, but we were pleasantly surprised. Be forewarned that this one can be very crowded because it is so accessible and a favorite of tour buses. However, we were able to find a secluded spot that provided us a wonderful unhindered view of the falls away from the dozens of others jockeying for photo positions on the rocks. Once you get to the falls, go ahead and do what everyone else does, then follow the shoreline away from the falls. A few meters downstream you will find a small path partially overgrown, but duck under a couple of low-hanging branches and you will find driftwood that will serve as a nice bench from which to sit in seclusion ad enjoy the falls It was nice to spend 15 minutes there completely alone while we took pictures and eat granola bars.

Though some parts of the walk are quite nice, with decent views on the valley, other parts are on the main road. Just before the waterfall is a car park and from that point on, it feels like walking on a pedestrian highway. The waterfall is quite nice but hard to appreciate with so many people around. The water is clear and fresh, so it’s nice to dip your feet in while you take in the view for a bit.

You can get to the place by vehicle and then take a walk of about 15'. Easy trail without difficulty. Then you arrive at the waterfall, a nice, quiet place to take photos and sit if you wish, for a little while to rest!

Beautiful waterfall. Parking area close by for folks who don’t want to hike. Part of the trail is combined with roadway so it can be dusty ( like all Argentine roads ) - beautiful once it gets off the roadway . Closer to 5-6 miles round trip

Takes you about an hour to walk to the falls. Worth it if you have half a day to spare. The walk is reasonably flat, but part of it is along a dusty road full of cars with people taking the easy option of driving to the falls. The falls are pleasant and a relaxing sight.

It is the simplest trail in Chaltén. Approximately 45 minutes one way. Part of it borders the route, the river of the turns and a small forest. We saw some birds on the banks of the river.
You can also go by car, there is a parking lot very close.
There is a "composting bathroom" on site.

Very easy to reach even by not experienced ones. The first step in our trip to El Chalten.
A good way to break the ice for the Fitz Roy... The next step!

Only an hour hike (flat) through the forest from El Chalten gets you to this lovely waterfall. We visited after a lot of rain and it was unbelievably powerful. All well signposted and if you have a car you can drive to within a 5 minute walk (although you miss out on a nice walk beside the river)
