This review is for the bus from El Chaltén to Lago del Desierto, the boat trip on the lake, and the hiking at the destination. The boat ride was bumpy, but that is just a result of the gravel Road. The lake is beautiful and the hiking trails are magnificent. Very lush and green, with views of glaciers and cascades.

This review is about fitz camp.

Excellent service, everything we imagined and more. Mariana excellent! Very friendly and delicious food.

There is access to a beach with a beautiful view of the fitz roy to wait for the sunrise (for those who are not encouraged to climb in the early morning).

All out of 10!

The place is amazing. It is an excursion to recommend. The tour operator (Receptive Chaltén) with some flaws. They did not stop us at the Fitz Roy Viewpoint because it was supposedly out of sight, nor at the Place of Conflict with Chile, because it was getting late. They told me that we were going to see him on the way back, but they didn't stop either.
And they left us to our own devices upon returning from the Vespigiani Glacier. I wanted to know how to visit Huemul Glacier, and I had to ask other guides from other companies where the trail began, where to buy the ticket, etc. Nice place but bad service.

They do not provide any clear information about the excursion. The day we did the tour two glaciers was a universal deluge, far from offering to re-schedule the tour take us equally by roads that are not at all safe in those conditions, do not offer any kind of guidance, only clarify that the hospital is far away and take care of yourself. The worst $80 spent in my life.

Navigating through that lake with that color of water and its coasts with mountains, forests, snowy peaks and glaciers, is incredible.
Getting to the forest and hiking along those trails to reach the viewpoints and contemplate the glacier and waterfalls is something unique.
Now, the Desert Explorers service is quite basic:
The transfer is in a van with a cracked windshield, without air conditioning, without being able to open the windows. And with shelves to place backpacks or jackets full of dirt, which obviously dirty everything. They can wipe it down from day to day at least.
The boat is fine, but you are only going to admire the landscape, because they are not going to tell you anything that could add to what you are seeing.
Once you disembark in the forest, the guide at the Dome where they receive you, only explains to you that there are 4 trails of different colors with different difficulties but not difficult, that you have a set time to be back. And you can't go back, always follow the circuit. It does not clarify that the yellow trail, after reaching the viewpoint you have to retrace your steps, nor that the difficulty due to height or efforts for certain elderly people, etc. It seems that we are all young people accustomed to mountain trekking.
Furthermore, he did not provide any information or knowledge about what was going to be seen.
At least the hot chocolate upon returning from the trail at the Dome was very positive.
In short, the experience is worth it for what you see and feel in those landscapes, not for the service provided.

Incredible place. Excellent service and attention. Martina, a genius, both in her explanations and in giving us options in the face of bad weather and the state of the trail. And, additionally, prepare an excellent chocolate for after the walk. I recommend!

It was an amazing experience and the camping infrastructure, dinner and breakfast were very good. Nevertheless, the bus witch brings us to the trail should have left much earlier, at 9, and not at 11! we almost didn’t have the time to go up the trail to lagoa de los tres. The map also needs to be improved.

Excellent reception and explanation of the self guided trails in Vespignani Glacier. Navigation of Lago del Desierto was short but very sweet. Highly recommended!

Very good excursion with incredible landscapes: the trip along the lake, the ascent along trails to the Vespignani viewpoint and lunch on the beach! And if possible, also do the Huemul glacier! Highly recommended!
