About
For that vintage seaside atmosphere of candy floss and donkey rides, set up your deckchair in the section closest to the town. The Blue Flag beach is never overcrowded and also has trampolines, bouncy castle and pirate ship during the Summer. If you want a quieter space for your picnic and to be closer to the sea, then venture further along the one-mile long promenade perhaps using the land train which runs the length of the promenade.

This was a day trip out before my knee operation. Never been to Barmouth before, but lots of other surrounding towns. We were really pleasantly surprised how nice it was on a windy, chilly New Years day. After getting a free parking spot for the day by advice of a friendly local at 9am. We literally had the beach to ourselves, not a human or dog in sight. The walk down to the sea was long but worth it, the big waves were really crashing down, very windy, but I loved it, the sea air smell..fantastic.
We were let into The Tilman by the kind owner for breakfast (yummy) only normally open at 10.30 to residents, but she gave pity as nowhere else open.
We had the beautiful town virtually to ourselves taking in all the old town, the drunks jail, the Viaduct to Fairbourne (yay it was open) we climbed up some steep steps, between a couple of houses, with envious views of the estuary to a vantage point by Cae Fadog, a lone bench was waiting for us with our name on it, what a fab place for a picnic. The rest of our day was great too, even being attacked by a young cheeky seagull
Thoroughly lovely seaside town, will come again to stay.

stunning beach, luckily we went before the school holidays and had the beach to ourselves. I really like the fact that there are segregated doggie areas as the Mrs has really bad allergies.
we only went for the day, but will stay for a few nights when we re-visit.

The drive to Barmouth is breathtaking!!!

Great beach with plenty of room for dogs to runaround and have fun! Even in November it was lovely, bit windy but still warm. Sea was really far out but easy to get to about a bit of a walk. Loads of ice cream places and a small amusements on the front. Lots of parking on the front which I expect would get really busy in the summer months. views are great

I never realised how refined and “high end” Barmouth was. I applaud the town council and anyone else who oversees how the town is run. Anyone involved with other towns in North Wales really should use Barmouth as an example of how things could be in your wildest dreams. You would never know high streets are a thing of the past in Britain. Barmouth’s high street is a fantastic stroll of high end shops and restaurants and lobster eateries. No tat here; just high end art shops, master jewellers, hairdressers and other exquisite shop windows. A poor description would be like the best parts of Chester hidden away on the far edge of Britain.

This was our first visit to Barmouth and we were pleasantly surprised, plenty of parking and not expensive either. Had a lovely walk along the front, then got some fab fish and chips and ate those on the front. Had a wander in the town, and then along the beach. Lots of places to eat, gorgeous views and it was very clean.

It really is a superb beach which curls around from the estuary along the full length of the Town. It has a lovely walkway down it’s full length. It has big sand dunes which add character and the size of the beach gives you an opportunity for privacy.

Got to be one of the best beaches in the UK. Tremendous views all around, very spacious and clean with people from all walks of life.
If you get great weather it's as good as being abroad!

Fantastic beach, with exceptionally clean water and dramatic views of the mountains. This is such a great beach for families as the water is shallow and there is so much space, it never seemed crowded at all. There is a large car park opposite the beach; though I'd recommend arriving by around 10.30 to 11.00 to ensure no problem finding a space. Their is a small fairground very close to the beach which has some nice rides for smaller children, a small arcade and loos. The train station is right in the middle of Barmouth and only a few minutes walk from the beach. There are lots of eateries and pubs in the town, though these were quite busy on our visit and we struggled to find somewhere to eat; so perhaps a beach picnic would be a good option.
