This is a great place to visit. Peaceful and quiet this pre Reformation Church has island history on every gravestone. My great grand parents are buried here, as are some whose stories are worth researching. No longer used for burials ( cemetery now in Borve)...More

Located down at the south of Harris, St Clement’s Church stand prominently over the surrounding area – dating from the late 15th or early 16th Century, the interiors are spares but there are a few tombs of note, including one of the most impressive medieval...More

Stopped off as we driving around Harris. Parked outside and whilst there were a number of other visitors it didn’t feel too crowded. Took our time inside and looking at the gravestones outside. Looked well looked after and preserved.

Walked across from Borrisdale a very easy 1 miles walk (one way) on good paths. The stone carvings of the Clan Macleod chief's tombs are really impressive, and kept my son fully occupied as he drew them in great detail. A unique reminder of a...More

A short drive from Tarbert, the church stands out on the hill as you approach. It’s unlike any other, empty and not used regularly, but is well looked after. The stone carvings are of particular interest.

A wonderful Church with a fascinating history. When we visited a local flautist was there playing - the acoustics were amazing, it was a very atmospheric experience

St. Clement's is a remarkable treasure of a 15th century church. Meticulously preserved. Visitors can climb into the tower to admire the view. Several interesting tombs.

Beautiful old church, very interesting piece of Hebridean history. Built in the 1520's by the Chiefs of the MacLeods of Harris, it was abandoned after the Reformation, and restored in 1873. Very impressive medieval tombs and clan carvings inside. Definitely worth a visit.
