We visited here on three occasions during a week’s stay in Alnmouth, which speaks for itself. Although, at least in these Covid times, there is no inside dining, there were several well-spaced tables in what was the old school playground. It felt safe. It’s relatively sheltered too, which can help when the weather isn’t too great. The coffee and cakes were just what we needed, and it’s just a short stroll from the centre of Alnmouth. Inside the small building was an art display, plus an opportunity to buy paintings, gift items and greeting cards etc. From 1730 most days (at least during the time when we were there … best to check beforehand) we enjoyed a freshly baked pizza to order from the Pizza van parked in the corner of the playground. Blessed with a lovely late September day we sat outside in the sun to eat cake and drink coffee. I am fussy about both and they were both DELICIOUS! The cake - coffee and walnut and polenta and lime were generous, moist and full of flavour. The gallery is lovely too - interesting, welcoming and a range of prices. Great stop.

We were very pleased to find this small gallery in the beautiful setting of the old school house. The cafe/shop staff were very friendly and helpful. There were some lovely pictures and artwork to enjoy looking at.

I love this place. I found it in February when I needed a break from house hunting. A welcome cup of tea and use of facilities. I love the picture I bought that day. Oops! There are always interesting things there. I have to control myself!

Lovely to see the space used as a gallery and plenty to peruse and buy if you fancy. Great if you can get a parking space outside but only a short walk from town centre if not.
