We drove there not knowing which spot to stop at. But after some trial & error, we found several spots that had spectacular views of the emerald green lake & the mountains around.

Beautiful waters in a stunning valley. Didn't see it at its best as we had constant rain showers but it obviously has features that you must see if in the area....and a story to tell!

Awesome lake, you can get a lovely cruise along the lake, takes about an hour beautiful scenery, lovely clear emerald water, which flows down from Kjenndalbreen glacier peaceful

The wally and the lake is stunning! Very narrow roads is challenging and make driving to an experience. You can fish for free in the big lake!

Beautiful lake. Just beautiful. If you go by the lake, you can visit the place where there was a tsunami that washed away two villages.

On our way out of Loen towards Sogndal, we made a small detour to see the Lovatnet Lake. Nice, but nothing special (relative to other lakes in Norway).

Gorgeous lake, so calm, green glacier fed waters on the day we were there. However, the mountain collapsed in 1934 and killed almost the entire population around the lake and created a 210 foot tsunami! Today, tranquil, peaceful and calm.

One of the most stunningly beautifully places I have ever visited. Sailing the entire length of the lake, in sunshine, on the top of the MV Kjenndal was brilliant. Follow that with a light lunch at the Cafe and a leisurely stroll to the glacier...More

Lovatnet is a beautiful lake fed by glacial run off. It's quite cold for swimming but I managed to get in. The lake water gets brighter and prettier the further down the road you go. There are a few camp sites along the road, but...More

I am not sure. The day we were there it was very wet .There were a couple of rowing board in the water but didn't see any kayaks. I wouldn't be surprised if they did hire them out though. But I just can't day for sure. Sorry.
