An impressive must see. Be prepared to take the approximately 200 steps to the top, but the steps are much better than the old system of raising you by means of a rope. The stairs were cut in the rock when the monks began to...More

The biggest draw for this Meteora monastery is that it is the most easily accessible: no stairs to climb! It is also the only nunnery of the famous Meteora monasteries, so it is worth a visit for that reason also. It offers stunning views of...More

We were early season and early morning, therefore not busy yet. The nuns have restored the monastery very well.

Another interesting Monastery and worth a short visit. There is a fee to enter but it is very reasonable and goes to help with the upkeep. Not many steps, unlike many of the other monasteries in Meteora.

We visited this monastery on our own in the afternoon when we arrived in the area. It is 10 minutes from town. Even thought there were some large bus tours, it was easy to visit. One young novice nun gave us a lot of information...More

This Monestary is the easiest one to reach because you don't have climb any stairs. 34 nuns currently live and work here. This Monestary was bombed during World War II and as a result the frescoes are only about 50 years old and still being...More

We visited Agios Stefanos and were fortunate enough to have a nun guide us on the miracles of St Haralambous. The nun explained to us with passion the tortures St Haralambous endured and that really moved us. Recommended visit
