There is not much left from the old castle but what remains is very romantic and photogenic and it offers amazing view to the Idar-Oberstein town. It is very well worth a visit and either combine with hiking on Nahe - Felsen - Weg or...More

Nothing really special. Just a part of an old castle. Nice views of the city though and not bad if you just want to take a short hike.

It is a pretty view on the town. There are a few old walls left from the old Burg. It is a steep climb up, it is better to walk up to the Schloss

If your Looking for something to do around the baumholder/idar oberstein area. We went here on a Saturday (during the summer). It's a nice "hike", but make sure you were walking/running shoes. Something comfortable, I made the mistake of wearing vans.

A nice hike to the ruins of this castle, which is just below Schloss Oberstein. Worth a look if you are hiking up the hill.

This is worth a view from below, a view from above and a walk to the grounds. It is a charming little castle ruin on the side of a mountain!
