This park has picnic sites, hiking and biking trails, a boat launch on the Arkansas River, and historic markers/informational displays. We've seen several weddings, a church service, renovation projects, and passing barges at this site. There are occasional re-enactments, but they are not widely advertised....More

Beautiful area and the scenery is nice but the area is not kept up and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and downright creepy. (And we camp often so I understand rustic bathrooms)

This is a great place for families to learn some history and get into nature. The park is well maintained and in recent times local law enforcement agencies have focused efforts to keep unsavory characters from causing any unwanted distractions to your family's outing. The...More

Beautiful park with a boat launch--rich history. Several years back a young man noticed an odd structure in the muddy bank & it turned out to be part of a Mammoth! So awesome! The replica settlers' cabin burned once but has been rebuilt. Beautiful overlook...More
