In 1875, Colonel Samuel West Peel built a marvelous villa tower Italiante mansion on the outskirts of Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a working farmstead surrounded by 180 acres of apple trees. The Peel Mansion is an outdoor museum of heritage roses, perennials, and native plants. Various vignette gardens are interlaced among curvilinear walks and large shade trees creating a most appropriate setting for this great historic building of Northwest Arkansas. Also on the site is the pre-Civil War Andy Lynch log cabin which serves as a gatehouse and Museum Store at the entrance to the grounds. *Tours are available every hour on the hour.* The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens offers a variety of event options - wedding ceremony and reception, rehearsal dinners, group luncheons and tours, as well as civic or corporate events. We have the perfect venue for your special event!

This historical home has been restored and air conditioned. It is free to the public. The grounds are well maintained and contain a rose garden and a vegetable garden in addition to the large old trees.

Peel Mansion is the home of congressman Colonel Samuel Peel (1831-1924) that was constructed in 1875. It's a great side visit if you are near the Bentonville Square. It's oddly situated in the parking lot of Walmart, but once you walk through the front gates...More

This historic mansion was saved from the wrecking ball years back and now offers visitors a lovely view into 19th century life in Bentonville. A very reasonable $5.00 admission gets you into the mansion’s first and second floors on a self guided tour where knowledgeable...More

The Peel Mansion is beautiful. There are several steep steps to get to the upper floors so be aware of that before you go. At the time we were there, the flowers were just starting to bloom so we didn't get to see the garden...More

Enjoyed the tour, however the grounds appeared to be somewhat unkempt. Dandelions all over the grounds, gardens not weeded etc... The two volunteers who told us about the mansion were very hospitable.

Found a new flower in the gardens. Lot's of bulbs blooming and other plants just starting to come up. Self tour of the home was great- the Docents on the grounds had stories to tell and could explain about the rooms if you wanted. Dedication...More

This mansion is in the Victorian style with many authentic pieces. There are steps to gain access to the second floor. The guides are very informative with many anecdotal stories. The gardens around the mansion are also very nice. Would not recommend when the weather...More

The home is beautiful. Part of the charm is the furnishings that decorate the interior. Old dolls, artifacts, furniture make this more museum a than a restored home visit. We went on the self-guided tour which worked out nice. You still get the benefit of...More
