The territorial prison in Yuma is a dichotomy in so many ways! It was located on the highest bluff overlooking the Colorado River with large vistas all around. Nice if you were a guard or prison staff not so nice if you were a prisoner!!...More

The prison has become the go to when we have out of area visitors. The displays and the cell block make for an interesting and educational experience.

self guided tour so no great stories to be heard.I don't think kids would like this tour? If I were to go again I'd shoot for after Sept.

We finally stopped at the old prison to go on a tour, after driving by so many times. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. The volunteer guide was well informed and gave a wonderful presentation of the history of this unique place.

I really enjoyed the self guided tour of the prison. There are numerous exhibits and interactive displays. Unlike places where you only observe from a distance, you get the real feel of what it must have been like for lawman and inmates.

I couldn't imagine being locked up there. The cells are so eerie. The grounds are immaculate and the staff friendly.

A must see when in Yuma. Beautiful view from guard tower. The museum had so many things to see and read about the prisoners.

We took our kids, 3 and 6 and everyone had a great time. The guided tour was informative and not too much for the kids. They still talk about things they learned about the prison and its history and are excited to go back someday.
